About Our Seminar Overview of the I llinois State Government with Margaret Vaughn, MA, BA, EAI Lobbyist Today’s discussion will provide audience members a background of the structure of state government and the legislative process and its impact on the electrology profession. This presentation will include an overview of laser and IPL hair removal treatments and ways in which electrolysis can be utilized to further the results of their clients. Attendees will see how a growing friendship between these two technologies can work together to enhance the treatment of their clients and boost business. Learning Objectives-

• Basic knowledge of laser/IPL physics and safety - including the differences between the two • Knowledge of who is considered to be an ideal candidate for LHR/IPL and who is not • Understanding the situations in which electrolysis is recommended as an alternative method or to further results • Strategies on how electrolysis can be used in tandem with LHR/IPL

A Discussion of the Impact of Sleep Apnea on our Health with David Bishop Are you foggy in the morning and have a hard time focusing during the day even after you got a “solid 8 hours of sleep”? These may be some key signs of a possible sleep disorder. We all look forward to getting some rest at the end of the night. But for some people, sleep isn’t always as restorative as it should be. In this presentation, we will discuss the evolving concept of society’s view on sleep and the resulting impact on the pursuit of “getting a solid 8 hours of sleep”. We will delve more deeply into a particular sleep disorder-Obstructive Sleep Apnea and its impacts on a variety of illnesses: · Stroke · Heart Attacks · High Blood Pressure · Diabetes · Cognitive Impairment · Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome Learning Objectives · Understand the underlying causes, diagnosis and treatment of Sleep Apnea · Identify Salient Factors regarding PCOS and Sleep Apnea · Guideline on how to have a conversation with your doctor if you suspect you have Sleep Apnea · How to discuss Sleep Apnea with your clients

From Chicago - Take I-294 or I-290 to I-88. Go west on I-88 toI-355 south. Take the Maple Avenue exit west (right turn) for about two miles. The campus is on the left side. From the north or south suburbs -Take the I-355 North-South Toll way to the Maple Avenue exit. The University is about two miles west of the Toll way. From the south -Take I-55 to the I-355 exit. Take the Maple Avenue exit west to the University. From O’Hare International Airport -Benedictine University is about 30 minutes southwest of O’Hare International Airport. Take I-294 south to I-88. Go west on I-88 to I-355 south. Go south to the Maple Avenue exit and west to the University. From Midway Airport -Benedictine University is 30 minutes northwest of Midway Airport. Take I-55 south to the I-355 exit. Go north to the Maple Avenue exit and west to the University. While driving west on Maple Avenue you’ll cross College Avenue (a light) and shortly after, another unnamed light. After crossing through the 2nd light look for a small road on the left (unnamed) with a balloon attached to a temporary sign for EAI. Follow the road and the EAI signs for Krasa Center on the left side. Seminar room is on the second floor.
