UPCOMING EVENTS
This week kicks off our “No Place for Hate” campaign.
Dress up all week to show that ESE is Bully-Free!
Wednesday: “Hats Off for No Hate!” Wear a hat to support being bully free.
Talk to your child about what it means to be bully free. *No Wigs Allowed.
Thursday: “Mix it Up!” Wear mixed up clothing and make a new friend by
mixing it up at lunch and recess. Did your child make a new friend today?
Friday: “Sock it to Bullies!” Wear CrAzY socks. Discuss different ways that
your child can stand up to bullies.
Mrs. Maldonado & Mrs. Follis join Congressman Ted Poe at a
special preview opening of our new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market.
Wal-Mart awarded ESE with a $1,000 grant!
We want to thank them, and Congressman Poe, for their support of our
local schools and community. Be sure to join our new neighborhood market
for their grand opening on Wednesday, January 21st at 7:30 a.m.

CHOIR will not be practicing in
January and will resume practice on
February 2nd. The Choir, Band and
Orchestra instructors from TMS will
be visiting our 5th grade students during their
specials to inform them about their middle school
programs. Please take some time to talk your 5th
graders about what musical electives they might
be interested in for next year.
This is the LAST CHANCE to order your 2014-15 Yearbook. Yearbooks are still on sale for $35.00 each. All order forms must be turned
in no later than TOMORROW ~ JANUARY 21ST or can be placed online
at www.balfour.com. Any orders received after this date will be returned. Any extra
yearbooks that we receive will be sold on a first come first served basis on a date and time
to be announced. Please see the yearbook order form on page 6 for details.

Annual Library Magazine Fundraiser is headed your way so get ready to renew your
subscriptions and order some new ones. All proceeds help our librarian purchase
Accelerated Reader programs, prizes, new books,
library activities and author visits.|
Today, students will receive the sales brochure and postcards to mail to family and
friends. Students who return SEVEN completed postcards will receive a
lanyard and a bear. For every additional magazine order sold, either online or on the form, they will
earn an additional bear.
Postcards and orders can be returned from January 21st ~ January 23rd.
Every day there will be a “mystery bear” drawing and a postcard drawing so bring your postcards and
orders in early to be entered into the drawing.
Orders can be placed online at www.gaschoolstore.com/login/studentinfo. Make sure to enter your
child’s name so that they can receive credit for the sales.
Top Seller will receive a $15 gift certificate to the March Book Fair.
2nd Place will receive $10 and 3rd place will receive $5.

SKATING 101 has begun and will run through January 27th.
Students in grades 3 ~ 5 will learn the basics and safety of
in-line skating during their PE classes.
STUDENTS should have long socks and a hat. If they do not bring a hat
a shower cap will be provided. Students are welcome to bring their own
helmets as well. Gloves and long pants are also recommended during cold weather.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to assist with putting on skates and pads and assisting those
that are having a little trouble keeping their balance. NO SKATING REQUIRED!
4th grade will skate at 8:40, 3rd grade at 9:50 and 5th grade at 10:55.

COUNSELING SMALL GROUP January 12, 2015 Dear Parents,
Do you feel like your child lacks confidence? This could pertain to lack of motivation in school or unsure how to approach certain situa-tions with friends. If this sounds like your child, then you’re in luck! We will be starting our Reach for the Stars small counseling group in a few weeks. This group will help your child learn the skills to gain the confidence they need to have self-worth and believe in themselves.
