The original plant in Nachod
The company was founded in 1950 as a Cooperative society and
named after the highest mountain of the Czech Republic – Snezka [ in
Czech Sněžka ]. The original manufacturing programme was sewing
bags, handbags, purses and wallets which could be found in shops all
over Czechoslovakia and even farther.
The scope and volumes were rapidly growing from year to year to such
an extent, that in 1970 Sněžka had over 500 employees working in 20
workshops.
Year 1992 brought a transformation to the company. Still in the same
year Snezka began to import some of the production materials from
China and Korea.
Year 1993 was a landmark for Snezka. The new scope of activity
became sewing the car headrests which meant changing the whole
strategy of the company.
The press on reducing prices in haberdashery made Snezka, like other
producers in the field, transfer producing some less difficult products to
China in 1997.
History
In 2005 Snezka proliferated by buying Bentex in South Bohemia, a company having
similar program like Snezka itself.
In 2006 Snezka expanded beyond the Czech borders by purchasing co. Autotex in Snina (
East Slovakia ), where subsequently a part of Snezka’s production was transferred.
A year later, in 2007, company Stival was purchased and renamed to Stival Automotive.
As the name suggests, Stival Automotive manufactures for the automotive industry as
well.
Present
At the present Snezka pertains to the largest
Cooperative companies in the Czech Republic with the
main manufacturing programme focused on sewing
parts for the automotive industry. Among the
commodities Snezka produces within that branch,
belong headrests, armrests or seats.
A part of the company, however, still produces the
traditional haberdashery , so typical of Snezka.

Snezka’s capacity ranges up to 60.000
pieces of sewn covers a day. Such a
volume has been ranging us among
the most significant producers in the
field for many years.
Our products are in so many variants as our
customer wishes. Sewing parts from all kinds of
fabrics and leatherette belong to our basic
offer. Moreover, we concentrate on sewing
difficult leather parts or those ones
embellished with ornamental stitching. Apart
from all these we arrange embroiding any types
of logos on the surface.
Process
Technology
Based on the customer provided
layouts we let the cutting tools
made in our own workshop.
The semi-factured products are cut on 12 pieces of
Schön + Sand diving board presses located at Snezka
Nachod. The outstanding feature of these presses is
their pinpoint accuracy even in case of cutting in several
layers.
Our machinery generally contains
326 sewing machines of following makes:

Only a few car components could be
tagged as handmade. Sewn parts made
in Snezka Nachod just belong to them.
The sewing operators are intensively
trained from the very beginning in
accordance with the customer’s quality
requirements which are thoroughly
checked after the training too.
Sewing
Lamination
…is a supplementing process of our leather
programme in which pre-cut parts are
laminated by adhesives and action of heat
with a foam. After the process the
laminated cut parts are cut to the precise
shape.
Assembly
…deals with fixing the sewn headrest covers with some plastic
reinforcement inside and the metal rods connecting the headrests
with the seat. Such assembled headrests are completely prepared to
our customers’ PIP foaming.

On that account we made an effort to
be certified in accordance with ISO/TS
16949: 2009.

It always takes a heap of time and effort before a sewing operator becomes well skilled, flexible as well as being able to sew the required
quantity. This long lasting process makes our staff the real treasure of the company. As we are well aware of that, we bring to our
