    The Indian Textile and Clothing industry is experiencing significant growthleading to substantial exports and massive employment generation. As per the

    survey carried out by the Labour Bureau of the Ministry of Labour &

    Employment, GoI, the textile sector has generated 1.52 lakh employment

    opportunities, the second largest for any sector in the country, between June 2009 and June 2010. This industry generates about 18% ofemployment for the country and employs nearly 35 million people directly and indirectly. In fact, it is estimated that one out of every six

    households in the country depends on this industry.

    The size of India's Textile and Clothing Industry is expected to reach US$ 220 bill ion by the end of this decade, out of which export share will be

    US$ 80 billion while the rest will be domestic consumption. It is estimated that during this period the textile sector will generate an additional 10

    million direct employment opportunities.

    Considering the huge job potential, NITRA is conducting 12 training programs and is coming out with several innovative joboriented

    programs which are funded by State Govt. of U.P. and Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. NITRA, being in the close proximity to India's largest

    Over the years, NITRA has established itself as a premier institute to offer shortterm joboriented programs for the textile and apparel sector. Uniqueness of NITRA programs lies in its

    comprehensive and industry oriented curriculum delivered by highly qualified & industry

    experienced faculty and thrust on practical training. This approach ensures that students after completing the programs

    are ready to serve the industry immediately. NITRA is the only institute that offers programs for the complete textile

    value chain starting from fibre to finishing of garments to meet the industry's requirement at shopfloor, supervisory

    NITRA is spread over a lushgreen 50 acre campus with a builtup area of over 55,000 sq. feet. NITRA has made

    Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, in July 2010 has launched Integrated Skill Development Scheme for the Textiles and Apparel Sector including Jute

    and Handicrafts to achieve the targets set out by the Prime Minister of India for skill development. NITRA has been chosen as one of the

    implementing agencies to impart training in the complete textile supply chain starting from textile fibre to fashion. Govt. of India has sanctioned a sum

    of Rs. 12.57 crore to NITRA to add stateoftheart infrastructure to its existing facilities so that trainees undergoing various training programs getexposed to latest technologies of textile and garment manufacturing. Further, State Govt. of U.P. has given a one time capital grant of Rs. 5.77 crore to

    NITRA to conduct training programs under the Assistance to States for Developing Export Infrastructure and other allied activities(ASIDE) Scheme.

    NITRA has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence(CoE) by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and is the lead partner with Deptt. of Textile

    Technology, IIT, Delhi as associate partner. In the year 200708, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India sanctioned a grant of Rs. 10.95 crore

    to procure latest machines and equipment for setting up facilities for CoE. Further, in March 2011, Ministry of Textiles, Govt.

    of India sanctioned another Rs. 14 crore to strengthen the CoE and set up an Incubation Centre. The activities of

    CoE and Incubation Centre include product development, manufacturing, quality evaluation and skill

    development for technical textiles with special reference to Protective Textiles.

    With the grants from both Central and State Govts. NITRA laboratories andworkshops are being upgraded with stateoftheart machines

    purchased from USA, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Japan,

    Singapore, Taiwan, China and Italy. .

    RAMSONS, computerized industrial sewing machines from U.S.A., Japan, China &

    Korea, multihead embroidery machine, fibre to fabric manufacturing machineryfrom UK, Austria, Switzerland and Korea and quality evaluation equipment

    from USA, UK, Austria, Switzerland and Japan. NITRA also has a full

    fledged lab equipped with complete range of equipments for

    testing of protective textile materials. Besides these, UV

    Visible Spectrometer & AAS from Australia, HPTL

    from Switzerland and Bioreactor from Holland

    Enriched with more than 7,000 books and publications, 4,500 bound volumes of journals and

    120 foreign and Indian periodicals, the wellplanned library provides the candidates an

    IT Centre

    The IT infrastructure to support the academics is amongst the best in its field. NITRA has

    about 175 Pentium based Desktops and Laptops equipped with latest software.

    Placement Cell

    1. All qualifications should be from a recognized university/board/institute. Candidates appearing in final year

    graduation/diploma examinations are also eligible to apply.st

    2. The minimum age to apply for all the above programs is 18 years as on 1 July.

    testing lab is desirable. The programs are open for both male and female candidates.
