DAY 4: 9/11 MEMORIAL AND BROOKLYN BRIDGEToday, we’ll head toward Wall Street and see the financial district. Next, visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, which honors the victims of the September 11 attacks. Afterwards, your Meridian guide will lead the group on an Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge for incredible views and photo opportunities. We’ll have the afternoon at leisure to take in the city and perhaps view the elaborately decorated department store window displays before getting back together for a Pre-Show Farewell Dinner. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day ParadeThe Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been held since 1924, making it one of the oldest Thanksgiving Day Parades in the United States. The parade lasts for three hours and has been aired nationally on tele-vision since 1952. It starts at 77th Street and Central Park West, snaking through the city to the finish line at Macy’s Herald Square.

Balloons shaped like popular characters have been a part of the parade since 1931. The very first character balloon was Felix the Cat. The parade also features “falloons” which are a mixture of floats and balloons. In addition, “balloonicles” are self-powered balloon vehicles and have been a part of the parade since 2004.

The parade is also known for having marching bands from colleges and high schools around the country. Cast members from recent Broadway shows are often featured, usually promoting a recently debuted show.

MGT reserves the right to de-cline to accept or retain any person as a participant of a tour at its discretion. MGT and/or its Tour Staff retain the right to require any participant to withdraw from a tour at any time, if determined to be in the best interests of health, safety and general welfare of the tour group or of the individual partici-pant.
