AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND ENERGY EVENT
Can you help? Can you join us on 14 March?
On Thursday evening 14 March 2019, nine days before the NSW election, we ask
you to be part of the largest public event on affordable housing and energy ever
held in Australia with 2500 leaders and citizens at Sydney Town Hall standing
together for the common good. Together we’ll seek clear, concrete commitments
on affordable housing, household renewable energy and rental reform from both
state and federal politicians seeking your vote.
The assembly is organised by Sydney Alliance (in which our Synod and Uniting are
partners), the Everybody’s Home Campaign (Uniting is a partner) and the St
Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
We now have just under 1000 people registered to attend – we need to at least
double that to ensure our political leaders (Federal and NSW) are there to face
their public on this critical issue. Register below to be part of it – and please
encourage others to register using all your available networks.
You can come directly to Sydney Town Hall for the 6.30 start or Uniting Church
members are gathering at Pitt Street Uniting Church from 5pm and we will walk
together from there to the Town Hall.
Please join us and help move politicians to make real, clear, concrete
commitments to the community.
Thursday March 14th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Sydney Town Hall (above Town Hall Station)

MIRANDA COMMUNITY GARDEN
Locally known as the MCG, the Miranda Community Garden is an initiative of
Gymea-Miranda Uniting Church and is located on the church grounds at 15-17
Central Road, Miranda.
Gardening takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9.30am to
12.30pm approximately. Everyone is very welcome to visit at these times and
see our productive, organic, fruit and vegetable beds. A recent addition to the
garden is a waist-high bed for people with limited mobility.
Please come and have a look – and you may also join if you enjoy gardening or
would like to know more about it.
