PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3
Dear Brothers and Sisters
We are celebrating the Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary tTme. Now we are getting closer
to the end of the liturgical year, and the Liturgy of the Word, during these days focuses on
the end of times. The Church stands fast in the truth delivered once and for all by Christ
that it is not for the faithful "to know the day or the hour" that the Lord will come again to
judge the living and the dead.
If we live the life of grace, so we will rejoice when the sun will be darkened, and the moon will fade, and the stars
will fall from the sky. We will rejoice because Christ is coming back to gather us through the ministry of his angels.
Is there on earth a greater joy that the joy of Jesus´s Coming? He is coming in glory; He will give final sense to all
the human miseries, faults, persecutions, fights, pains, and contradictions.
This is why we pray maranatha, Come Lord Jesus!
How should our attitude be towards the second coming?
Our attitude should be: Hope, Desire, and Preparation. Christ must return. And as He approaches His return, by for-
ce we should make clear resolutions and promises of Saints. Now He is coming not to be crucified for the sins of
many, but to judge all, not like the Lamb of God, but as King of the world to come. He returns to put his enemies
under His feet, to restore and return all things to His Father.
Therefore we pray for the gift of receiving the Spirit of Jesus, and thereby the grace of unconquerable hope. For one
who has received His Spirit, there is no hopeless situation, the power of God's reign is supreme on earth as it is in
heaven.
In Jesus and Mary
Fr Javier Ibarra
“Finding God in All Things” The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556) are being offered at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Parish, Xavier Hall in Mankato beginning Saturday, December 1st at 10:15AM. The theme of the Spiritual Exercises is to know, love and serve God in this world. The exercises help us see who we are – one loved by God. They help us realize we are called by God to follow Jesus Christ, who
became man over 2000 years ago to show us how to live. He still shows us how to live today. We will be using an established format conducive to the Spiritual Exer-cises in Everyday Life, in which someone can "make" the Exercises over the course of several weeks. We will begin the exercises in Ad-vent, meet weekly through Advent and Christmas (5-weeks), break for two months and then resume March 2nd covering the periods of Lent and Easter (8 weeks). Those interested in making the Spiritual Exercises or would like more information should contact Frank & Jackie Cesario at 507-625-2395, [email protected]
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
For those who were unable to sign up for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration here at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, please contact Linda Zumwalde at 720-0467 or email at [email protected]. Days of ado-ration are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:30 AM until about 7:00 PM. We are now looking for adorers to share an hour with another adorer as most hours are filled with at least one person. You could, therefore, come just every other week – making it more achievable for busy peo-ple. Call me as soon as posible.
Adoration begins the first week in December.
