new energy resources, more people start to focus on Biomass fuel business. Biomass briquette

is renewable, clean, eco-friendly energy, especially for agricultural countries. This plant can

make stick shape wood briquette of different diameter and different shape from biomass and

For biomass briquettes or charcoals, the raw materials are mainly crop waste for the object of

turning waste to wealth.

Any type of Agro-Forestry waste can be used. But the Moisture Content Should be about 8-12%,

grain size is below 5*5mm.

Flowchart of the Biomass Briquette Technology:

1. Briquette Crusher

For proper working of biomass briquette press and drying machine in the biomass briquetting

plant, size of biomass waste is important. There are two types of crushing machine available for

making suitable size sawdust or biomass grain for following drying machine and biomass

briquette machine in biomass briquetting plant. The choose of proper model depend on the

types and size of your raw material

(1) FSJI Wood Crusher

In the biomass briquetting plant, FSJI Wood Crusher is suitable for preparing sawdust or

biomass small grains for briquette machine and dryer. It can crush raw wood of size less than

200mm (diameter) into size of 3-5mm (diameter).

The wood crusher supplied by our company is a kind of newly-developed wood crushing

equipment for raw wood, which is an innovation on the basis of all the traditional

crusher-making theories both home and abroad. It is composed of machine body, knife

chipping part, chips re-crushing part and sieving part, etc. It combines both chipping and

crushing in one machine, can make sawdust in one passage, no need to use wood chipper for

pre-processing of wood logs.

(2) SJII Hammer mill

In the biomass briquetting plant, FSJII Hammer mill is suitable for preparing suitable size raw

material for briquette machine and dryer. It can mill raw material like tree branch, tree

trimmings, wood chips, wood cuttings, cotton stalk, corn stalk, wheat straw etc of size max.

50mm (diameter). After milled, the output size can reach diameter 3-5mm, which is good for

working of following dryer and briquette machine.

Our hammer mill is a machine whose purpose is to shred material into fine particles. A hammer

mill is essentially a steel drum containing a vertical or horizontal cross-shaped rotor on which

pivoting hammers are mounted. The hammers are free to swing on the ends of the cross. The

rotor is spun at a high speed inside the drum while material is fed into a feed hopper. The

material is impacted by the hammers on the ends of the rotating cross and thereby is shredded

and expelled through screens in the drum.

In the biomass briquette plant, this type of dryer is suitable for drying heat sensitive material

which is light and small like sawdust, rice shell, milled stalks etc. Generally wet material can be

dried in a few minutes. Comparing with rotary dryer, it has the advantages of low energy

consumption, low cost. In spite of simple design, it has good effect and high efficiency.

The whole system consists of fan blower, motor engine, fuel boiler, steel pipe, cyclone and air

lock. In this system, wet material is put into the hopper by screw feeder and at the same time

fuel furnace produces large volume of hot air, which is driven into steel pipes, mixed with wet

sawdust and attracted through curving pipes and drying chamber by the power of fan blower.

Fast moving hot air sustains and is mixed with raw material sent by spiral feeder in the

suspending state through the steel pipe, moisture evaporates as the material traverses along

the steel pipe and is rendered dry at the discharge end. Humid air is continuously exhausted,

thus the material is dried.

(1) Single boiler dryer model HGJ-I for lower moisture content 20%-30%

In the biomass briquette plant, the moisture reducing rate of the dryer HGJ-I is 8-12%. This

series of dryer is equipped with one hot air boiler, suitable for drying raw material with moisture

content less than 20-30% for biomass briquetting. If the moisture content of the raw material

for biomass briquetting is higher than that, it will need two or three times to dry to achieve the

moisture content requested for biomass briquetting plant.

(2) Single boiler dryer model HGJ-II for moisture content 30%-50%

Compared with the above single boiler drying machine, the HGJ-II has one more wave of

drying pipeline. Such design can make the materials have a long drying process, so that

the moisture can be solved even less. The kind of machine is quite suitable for moisture

content 30%-50%.

(3) Twin boiler dryer model HGJ-III for higher moisture content 50%

Twin boiler dryer is a newly developed dryer with two hot air boilers, it is suitable for drying

raw material with moisture content of 50%, and it can reduce moisture from 50% to 8-12%

only one passage or one time.

3. Biomass Briquette Machine

Our Briquetting Presses are in screw type, it produces hollow hexagonal or quadrangular

cylinder with a 15-20mm hole through the body. The briquettes produced by a screw press is

easily handled and stacked, and they have some advantages over those produced using the

ram and die press, such as better efficient combustion due to the central hole and carbonized

outer layer. Our biomass briquette machine have automatic temperature control system, it is

designed to produce high density wood or biomass briquette as biofuel.

Briquetting is a process that biomass is compressed under high pressure and high temperature.

The machine uses a large screw to grind, compress and extrude the biomass into briquettes.

The self bonding of biomass to form a briquette involves the thermo-plastic flow of the biomass.

The natural lignin content in biomass is liberated under high pressure and temperature. Lignin

serves as the glue in the briquetting process, binds the particles of wood together, thus binding,

compressing the biomass to form into high density briquettes. During this process, no binder

needs to be used. So the output briquette is a type of clean and green fuel that is ideal for use

in furnaces, boilers and open fires.

4. Carbonization Furnace

Carbonization furnace is a stove used to change biomass briquette into charcoal briquette. The

quality and efficiency of kiln affect final forming of charcoal briquette greatly. This furnace is

ideal equipment for wood briquettes to have anoxic distillation carbonization. Due to its rational

structure, the furnace only needs small quality of heat consumption. It adopted Superheated

Stream cooling system, thus can speed up the cooling process, improve the quality of charcoal,

and reduce the production cycling time. Its horizontal condenser can retrieve much wood tar.

5. Thermal shrink wrapping machine

Thermal shrink wrapping machine is an advanced packing machine in the market now. It

adopts infrared quartz pipe to heat the packing material. So it can efficiently save the electric

power.

The contraction temperature and transmission speed are adjustable. This machine uses PE

contracting pellicle to pack the wood briquettes, you have to send it by hand into the packing

machine, and then the packing-material will be heated and contracted to enswathe the

briquettes. In this way, the briquettes can be airproof, damp proof, and pollution proof. It also

can prevent the wood briquette from the exterior concussion in some extent.

6. Auxiliary equipment (Optional)

(1) Batching Warehouse

The warehouse, also called proportioning bin, is a link between drying machine and briquette

machines as a temporary warehouse for dried powders. And the batching warehouse can

support several briquette machines at the same time to improve the capacity in a large scale.

(2) Conveyer

The use of Conveyors can help to save labor cost efficiently. Screw conveyor is used to transfer

the powder like raw materials like sawdust, rice hull, pulverized straw from crushing machine to

drying machine, or from drying machine to briquette machine etc.

Belt conveyor is used to

(1) convey bulk materials like wood pieces, corn cob to hammer mill and wood crusher;

(2) convey final briquettes to storage place.
