Simulation Training

. The DriveWise Safe Start Course is one of the only MTO approved Beginner Driver Training course provider Programs to include Virtual Reality Simulation Training within the 20 hours of classroom.

. Well-known research concluded that after two weeks, a person remembers only 10% of what they have read. However, by presenting the same information via interactive simulation, a person will retain a remarkable 90% of what they have learned.

. Simulation training has been used for training the Military, Police, Fire, Ambulance, Trucking, as well it is a key training component for the Aerospace Industry. This technological advancement in learning is NOW available for training the New Driver!

. The DriveWise Safe Start program is exclusive to DriveWise Training Centres which now spans Canada Coast-to-Coast.

. We teach DriveWise students the skills they need to meet the challenges of driving on today's roads through our modern blended learning environment – classroom, simulation and practical hands -on 1 on 1 in-vehicle training.

Benefits of this high-tech approach:

o Students will experience driving at any time of the day or night and in varying weather and adverse conditions in the safety of the simulator.

o Students will develop their driving skills for evasive maneuvers, decision -making and situational perception. (Examples include: dealing with blown tires while traveling on the freeway, deer jumping in front of the vehicle at dusk, the hazards involved in not checking mirrors and blind spots, etc…).

o Students will safely train and make mistakes without endangering themselves, their vehicles or others.

o Students build confidence in their driving skills for real life traffic in a multitude of situations including emergencies.

o Students learn first hand how distractions or impairments while driving can be fatal. o Each student has a wireless handheld response pad, or clicker, that they are able to answer

questions with. The Classroom Performance System allows every student to answer without the fear of humiliation or negative attention. Shy students can answer without being embarrassed. Eager students can answer questions without dominating the class.

Integrated Program: In-Class and In-Car

. At DriveWise we ensure continuity between the in-class and the in-car portions of our program. What our students learn in the classroom, they will then try on the simulator and then will practice those same techniques in the car.

. Our in-class instructors teach skills like highway/freeway driving, emergency driving situations, speed management, and other collision avoidance techniques – then the students will get to use those techniques in the simulator, which creates real -life scenario’s that put students in high -risk situations, while they remain perfectly safe in the classroom .

. In-car instructors will demonstrate these life-saving techniques again in-vehicle. Then our students have the opportunity to practice these skills on road with a professional by their side. That means when it happens for real - they'll know what to do!
