We have planned some creative projects for you - , assignments to make the optimum use of your energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you continue learning during the holidays as well. Note to the parents: Kindly encourage your ward to read the newspaper daily to develop the habit of read- ing. Tell them to work upon their handwriting, how important it is to write with a good hand and how one’s personality can outshine with good handwriting. Tell them to help at least one person in the neighbourhood during the vacations to in- culcate the concept of value education in them. Educate your child to work upon petty household work during the vacations to under- stand the importance of being clean and keeping the surroundings clean. Tell them the importance of nature. At least everyone should do one plantation in sur- roundings. General instructions: All the work should be neat, presentable, original and should conform to the guide- lines. We have planned some creative projects for you - , assignments to make the optimum use of your energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you continue learning during the holidays as well. SOCIAL STUDIES

I. HISTORY

Highlight the achievements of Modern History of India on any one of the

following aspects:

1. ART: Music, Dance, Theater, Sculpture, Medicine, Painting etc.

2. ARCHITECTURE: Buildings, Museums, etc. that were designed dur-

ing the Colonial Period

3. LITERATURE: Contribution in Literature during the Colonial Rule.

Present the findings in form of a Report. Student should consult Ch-10

(History) and can take the help of Internet as well. Add colourful

pictures to support your findings. Write the report in S.St Notebook.

II. GEOGRAPHY

India faces many natural disasters like Earthquakes, Floods, and

Tsunami etc. every year. Refer Chapter-10 (Geography) and Internet

and make a project on Disasters that India face. Project should include

answer to the questions like:

1. How these Disasters occur?

2. What are the effects of these disasters on the living and non-living

world?

3. What measures should be taken to minimize the adverse effects of such

disasters?

Support your project with colourful pictures. Use A4 size sheets to do the

project.

III. CIVICS

“Justice delayed is Justice denied.” Explain the statement with the relevant

examples from India. Present your findings in form of an Article. Write the

article in S.St Notebook.

(I) Smart Fabrics: You have heard of smart phones and cars but have you heard of smart fabrics too? Technological

development in the textile industry has led to the creation of a wide range of smart and modern textiles with a

variety of the applications. They are used in sportswear, medical and safety wear and fashion clothing. Some ma-

terials mixed with clothing can help to monitor your health and stress levels. During winters Skiers wear suits

that instantly hardened upon impact protecting the athletes from injury. Certain companies have come up with

smart fabrics that create a sense of wellbeing. They have anti stress or calm inducing properties.
