volumes of waste exposed andvulnerable during the holiday breakperiod

GENERAL ADVICE ON THE STORAGE OF WASTE

§ Where possible restrict access to where waste is stored.

§ Choose where you locate your bin/skip carefully.

§ Use containers made of non-combustible material.

§ Ensure the rubbish containers are never overfilled and aresecurely shut.

§ Install security devices such as cameras, lighting or alarms instorage areas.

DO NOT site bins and skips to close to your buildings and always allow aminimum of 3 metres between skips.

Companies with large volumes of waste paper and cardboard packagingshould consider using a compactor instead of a vulnerable open skip.

Why not consider joining with other retailers or occupiers to jointlyimplement these measures.
