Principal’s Report
P&C Meeting
Thanks to all of our parents who were able to meet with us on
Tuesday in our meeting. Meeting minutes will be shared and
parents are encouraged to contact our P&C with any ideas they
may have.
Staffing
We welcome back Mrs Badger this week after her wonderful
experiences. In welcoming her back, we say a huge thank you to
Mrs Field who has stepped into the Support role, and also Mrs
Glasson who has been working in 456 for this time.
Clucktastic
On Wednesday 4 of our students travelled
to Crystal Creek PS to see how this school
has set up it’s chicken program. They were
able to see how it is designed, how it
functions and how we may be able to use
this information as part of our sustainability
program. Thanks to Lija and Annie for
organising this experience.
Creative Kids program
In weeks 5 and 9 of Terms 2 and 3, our school will participate in a Creative Kids program. This will offer our kids some amazing opportunities to grow their creative talents through ICT, Visual Arts and STEM. Parent transport is required for the APPLE Store aspect of this program, with information shared earlier this week. No Sushi will be ordered on the Creative Workshop Fridays, lunch can be taken to Robina or purchased at the shopping centre. Flexischools Our school is establishing a new component of communication
between the school and it’s community. The Flexischools app
provides quick, easy and effective channels of communication of
messages, notices, notes, information dissemination, urgent
issues and even menu’s. It is really simple to implement
(separate information will follow) and it will work alongside all of
our current communication procedures, including newsletter,
facebook and website.
Stewart House Concert
Tuesday 2nd July is the set date for our whole
school Stewart House concert with all of the other
small schools in the area. This will take place at
the Tweed Civic Centre, with a matinee and
evening performance. Our Norfolk fundraisers will
also be hosting the food stall at this event.
Small Schools Soccer
This competition is specifically for small schools, with adjusted rules to suit. We will be travelling to Burringbar PS on Monday
17th June top play the first two rounds of this competition. Our 4/5/6 class are busily preparing for this event, and having heaps of fun in the process.
