A Kilve One Day Course. A creative writing course for more able pupils in Years 6 9 Dungeons and Dragons Saturday 16 th April 9.30 am – 3.00 pm At Kilve Court Centre £40 per person How to use the ‘Show, Don’t Tell’ technique in writing. We’ll begin by discussing how to write description and action so they come alive. We’ll explore Kilve’s own cellars to get atmosphere and look for images, then returning to the classroom, we’ll work on a short descriptive fantasy passage. Course Tutor: Beth Webb MA has been a regular tutor at Kilve Court for 20 years. www.bethwebb.co.uk What to bring: pupils should bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink a pencil case No school uniform required This course is for pupils in Years 6 9 who enjoy writing stories as well as those who have potential in these areas. The children should be: o keen to enjoy their learning; o interested in English and writing stories; o enjoy the challenge of working with different children; o willing to take risks and respond to learning challenges. below  address  with  full  payment  £40.    Places  will  be  allocated  on  a  first  come,  first  served  basis,  (20  

places  available).    To  check  availability  and  to  reserve  a  place,  please  call  the  office.    You  will  be  notified  

immediately  as  to  whether  you  have  been  successful,  or  if  the  course  is  full.      

(Cheques  payable  to  Somerset  County  Council.  Please  note  the  course  fee  is  non-­‐refundable).  

We  can  now  accept  card  payments  over  the  phone  but  a  fee  of  £2.50  will  be  added  for  Credit  Cards.
