The Special Recognition Award was presented to Camillus Kilpatrick of Naomh Olaf. Camillus is a former Chairperson of Dublin (2008-2010) and in his tenure Dublin won for the first time the Minor All Ireland, Aisling McGing and Senior All Ireland titles. This was fitting tribute to a man who transformed the structure and organisation of Dublin Ladies football from an association which was tired on its feet into the largest female sporting organisation in the Capital. Camillus received a standing ovation from the floor and in an emotional speech he paid tribute to those on the Executive committee who worked with him to help Dublin become the association it is today. Camillus was joined on stage by his Wife Una and his three daughters.
What a great year for Dublin LGFA at both County and
Club level and there is more to come in 2012.
