• Revenues from the UAE’s logistics market are expected to reach $10.06 billion in 2015, an impressive jump from the figure of $7.03 billion in 2010 (*figures from Frost and Sullivan)
• Abu Dhabi Airport Company launched the Abu Dhabi Airport Business Park, which is being constructed on 12 sq km of land and will include around 2 sq km of space for a warehousing and transportation complex
• Waha Land has also commenced the first phase of construction on its Almarkaz mixed-use industrial development, occupying a total area of 1.5 sq km, with around 220,000 sqm dedicated to warehousing facilities
• Abu Dhabi Ports Company unveiled Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), a 417 sq km industrial zone located between the UAE capital and Dubai. By 2030 the project is expected to contribute around 15% of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil GDP, with $7.2 billion being invested in the first phase alone
• Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah unveiled major infrastructure developments valued at $215 million
• Momentum Logistics has completed the perimeter road network for its International Logistics City, a 700,000 sqm development in the Al-Saja’a district at Sharjah that will contain warehouses and distribution centres, as well as a transportation park, container freight station, container repair workshop and offices

Dubai is set to solidify its position as a leading international logistics hub!
• Ras Al-Khaimah will invest a staggering $2 billion to expand its popular free trade zone over the next five years, which offers a range of warehouse facilities with direct access to Saqr Port
• Bahrain opens Takhzeen, a $17 million self storage project spread over 20,000 sqm
• The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and its preparation will reach around $65 billion. Investment surrounding it is set to be several billion dollars. 40% of the budget is planned for infrastructure projects, which will boost construction and real estate for tourist facilities
• An $11 billion investment is set for the New Doha International Airport (NDIA), scheduled to open in 2013
