470 universities in Poland (2011) – in this 338 private universities – the largest number of higher education institutions in Europe
Over 200 faculties, makro courses etc. About 2 milion students, 19 students for 1 academical teacher, 83
students for 1 profesor 20,4% people with higher education degree
Budget for higher education 10 mld zł (state budget) + 5 mld zł (private budget) = 15 mld zł
1,0% GDP (state) + 0,4% GDP (private) = 1,4% GDP
Only 7,1% people with disabilities, who have higher education degree

Over 20% graduates are unemployed Low practise level and job experience of
graduates Too many graduates of the humanities and
social sciences, too few technological science graduates
too many graduates with university education comparing to vocational education

Reinforcement of the role of academical career centres
Monitoring of graduates and their careers after studies
Polish Accreditation Authority and its members from employers enviroment
Representatives from employers enviroment have classes with students and take part in making study programme
Amendment act of law higher education
KNOW – State Leading Scientific Centre as the best academic centre connecting science with business and state economy
National Qualification Confines instead of fixed study programmes
Diamod Grants – specific grants for young scientists

Individual work with coach Special trainings in companies for students
with disabilities Support of job assistant Courses for employers on cooperation with
