PurposeUse this procedure to manage batch information via the batch information cockpit.
TriggerPerform this procedure when you need to manage batch information via the batch information cockpit.
PrerequisitesNone
Menu PathUse the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:
Select Logistics Central Functions Batch Management Tools Batch Information Cockpit to go to the Batch Information Cockpit screen.

Procedure
1. Start the transaction using the menu path Logistics Central Functions Batch Management Tools Batch Information Cockpit or transaction code BMBC.

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:
Field Name R/O/C Description
Material O Any item/product/SKU that exists in SAP. Materials are created, purchased, ordered, received, moved within and between plants and sold.
Plant O A physical definition of a group of manufacturing processes.Example: 0421
Batch O Number that uniquely assigns a material manufactured in a lot. The batch material is managed separately from other sets of the same material. Also, used to describe the running of multiple non-manual transactions in SAP.
3. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit (2) screen.

Batch-managed materials are displayed under Selection result for batches.
4. Click a material number to display the top-down analysis associated to it.
5. Click a top-down analysis to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Display batch screen.

6. As required, review the following fields:
Field Name R/O/C Description
Production date R Date production was completed.Example: 02/14/2005
Sh.life exp.dte R Shelf Life Expiration Date. Date up to which a material can be retained in storage and still be acceptable for use.Example: 02/14/2007
Vendor batch R Vendor batch number - Number under which batch is managed at vendor.Example: L3205
Ctry of origin R Key of the country in which the material has been produced.Example: FR
Last goods rec. R Last day on which goods/services were received.Example: 02/14/2005

8. Click and select Usage to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Batch where-used list screen.

10. Click to go to the Material documents for material XXXX, plant XXXX, and batch XXXX window.

11. Click a material document to select it.
12. Click to go to the Display Material Document XXXX : Details XXXX / XXXX screen.

Review the material document details as needed.
13. Click to return to the Material documents for material XXXX, plant XXXX, and batch XXXX window.
14. Click to return to the Batch Information Cockpit – Batch where-used list screen.
15. Go to Step 7.
16. Click and select Batch master as needed to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Display batch screen.
17. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Display batch (Basic data 2) screen.

18. As required, review the administration.

20. As required, review value assignments for the batch class.

22. As required, review the following fields:
Field Name R/O/C Description
Rem. shelf life R Remaining shelf life of a material.Example: 1
Tot. shelf life R Total shelf life for a material.Example: 730
Class R A class is a grouping of similar objects according to common characteristics.Example: SPS_FORAPERLE
Class type R Top-level unit of control for classes. Each class must be assigned to exactly one class type. The class type is used to define a number of parameters in the Classification System. Specifically, class type is used to form logical grouping of characteristics, such as characteristics for batch or configurable materials.Example: 023
23. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Display batch (Changes) screen.

24. As required, review when changes have been made to batch, including detailed information for change.
25. Go to Step 7.
26. Click and select Batch master as needed to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Display batch screen.
27. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Change batch screen.

- Print documents.
Date X O You are free to choose how this date is used.
31. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit – Change batch (Classification) screen.

32. As required, complete/review value assignments for the batch class.
33. Click to save your changes.

The system displays the message, “Changing batch XXXX.”
34. Go to Step 7.
35. Click to go to the Batch Information Cockpit window.
