5.2: Assembly and connecting to test chamber.

The mouse and keyboard is to be connected to the DSA 6000 unit using a USB connection. All USB ports on the DSA 6000 are collected in a USB hub behind the front plate of the DSA unit. It is possible to slide the USB plugs from mouse and keyboard through the cable opening. Alternatively the front plate can be removed by losing the four finger screws on the front plate and carefully pull the front plate forwards. The USB hub will be mounted on the rear side of the plate.

Use USB port 1 and 2 for the mouse and keyboard. Port 3 and 4 will be used in the future for other purposes. Finally secure the mouse- and keyboard cable in the cable relief bridge by loosing screws.

Connect the cables to the ATC 4000 test chamber. Labels on each cable correspond to printing on the chamber for correct connection.

Lastly make sure the fan switch on the rear panel of the DSA 6000 unit is in position AUTO, attach the power cables to DSA unit and monitor and DSA 6000 system is now ready to switch on.

The On/Off switch is located on the right side of the DSA 6000 unit.

5.4: Activating NI Test Software. About standard software on DSA 6000. There are two major standard software applications running on the DSA 6000. It is the TestStand and the Audiomaster test library, both are supplied from National Instruments, and both are license based applications. The licenses are linked to the hardware in the DSA 6000 system. TestStand is linked to the controller unit (the PC) and AudiomasterLibrary is linked to the DSP unit. This means that you cannot replace any of these two hardware units without reconfigure the license files. The AudiomasterLibrary is already activated on delivery of the system from GTO. TestStand is also installed, but before it can be used it must be activated. This is done with the National Instruments “NI License Manager”.

5.7: System calibrations definitions.

For the DSA 6000 system four calibration and verification processes are defined.

Yearly calibration. As a minimum this calibration must be performed once every 12 month. The yearly calibration is performed in accordance with Doc # 0210740. A Passed Yearly calibration will make a date stamp in the System Configuration SW and will be reflected on the Weekly & Daily

Weekly calibration. As a minimum this calibration must be performed every 7 days. This calibration is performed in accordance with Doc # 0202830. The system will have an internal check that this calibration is done within the calibration period. If the calibration date is passed, the system will be blocked until the weekly calibration process has been executed with a “Passed” result. Weekly calibration consists of two parts. First part is the actually system calibration and second part is the system verification.

Daily calibration. As a minimum this calibration must be performed every 24 hours. The daily calibration is in fact the verification part of the weekly calibration. This will ensure that the system has not change performance since the last weekly calibration. Likewise the weekly calibration the system will automatically block until a Passed daily calibration is done. 5.8: Installing calibration TPIx files. Before running any test programs the DSA 6000 system must be calibrated. For calibration is performed by running the test program “Acoustical Calibration and Validation”. It is the equivalent to the Calibration Tool on the AUDIOmaster system. There is no Calibration Tool on the DSA 6000 system. The calibration TPIx file is found on the GTO web site in its current valid version and is installed like any other test TPI. Procedure is to download the TPI from the GTO web page “DSA 6000 utility software” found under Test&Software > DSA 6000 software > DSA 6000 utility software.

Initial yearly calibration. When the system is delivered from NI the individual components are calibrated from the vendor of the system. This calibration is performed at delivery time to GN ReSound and will, in connection with a weekly calibration routine, cover the first yearly calibration. Storage time before final installation may shorten this period. At installation time for the system the due date for the next early calibration should be found by identifying the Certificates of Calibration in the cardboard bind. The date on this certificate indicates the due date for the next yearly calibration.

The documents must be stored for regulatory traceability purposes.
