Run ModesThe function selection switch (see Fig. 3) is used to place the actuator into any one of five different modes:?2…10 V: modulating / floating / 2-position control; CW?0…10 V / Dir: modulating / floating / 2-position control; CW?Service/Off: actuator stops running?10…0 V / Rev: modulating / floating /2-position control; CCW ?10…2 V: modulating / floating / 2-position control; CCW

Fig. 3. Function selection switch

2.. 10V0.. 10V/ DirService/Off10.. 0V/ Dir10.. 2V

Service/OffIf the function selection switch is set to the "Service/Off" position, all rotary movement is cancelled, and all control signals are ignored, thus allowing the actuator to be safely manually operated.

Modulating Control ModeIf the actuator is wired for the modulating control mode(terminal 1 powered) the actuator will run according to the control signals applied.Alternatively, if the override is active (terminal 4 is powered), the actuator will ignore the Y-signal and move to a position of 0% of its max. stroke.

Power-Off BehaviorIf power is removed, the actuator retains its position.

FEEDBACK SIGNAL (V)

Feedback As long as terminal 1 is powered, the feedback signal will be generated according to the setting of the function selection switch.

Fig. 6. Adaption (func. selection switch set to 0...10 V)

The feedback can supply a 1 mA strong signal. If the sensing device is equipped with a "pull up" resistor, the feedback can control a max. return current of 0.5 mA at 2 V.

Sleep ModeWhen actuator reaches end stop or any obstacles blocking its running, it will fall into sleep mode automatically. Actuator will periodically start up and try to resume running, which will save energy significantly through whole service life.

OverridingIf a 24 V signal is applied to terminal 4 while terminal 1 is also powered, the actuator will ignore the control signal at terminal 3 and will instead move to a position of 0% of its max. stroke.

Dip SwitchesThe actuator is equipped with two dip switches accessible after removing the access cover (see Fig. 7).

Autoadapt will be carried out only if:-dip switch 2 ("autoadapt") is set to ON and

-the actuator is powered at terminal 1 and

-the control signal's value rises up into the upper dead band (i.e., to more than 9.76 V) or drops down into the lower dead band (i.e., to less than 0.24 [2.24] V), and if the shaft adapter can remain at the respective mechanical end limit for at least 3 seconds.

The actuator will then automatically recognize the new position and behave according to the solid "AFTER AUTOADAPT" line depicted in Fig 6.

Autoadapt OFFWhen dip switch 2 ("autoadapt") is set to OFF (default setting; available starting with Date Code 1308), the actuator will behave according to the dotted "BEFORE AUTOADAPT" line depicted in .

AutoadaptAutoadapt ONIn autoadapt, the actuator re-maps its feedback and control signals in accordance with repositioned mechanical end limits (see Fig 6 ) and thus recognizes their new positions..

Limitation of Rotation StrokeTwo mechanical end limits (adjustable in 5° increments) are provided to limit the angle of rotation as desired (see Fig. 9).

Fig. 9. Mechanical end limits

Manual AdjustmentThe gear train can be disengaged using the declutch button, permitting the actuator shaft to be manually rotated to any position. The feedback signal will then follow the new position.

The mechanical end limits must be securely fastened in place. It is important that they properly mesh with the rotational angle scales when the screws are tightened.

NOTE: Auxiliary Switches

End switch functionality is provided by optional accessory ACCA-AD2034-SW2.

ACCA-AD2034-SW2 provides auxiliary switches which are freely adjustable between 0 and 90 °

INSTALLATIONThese actuators are designed for single-point mounting.

Mounting InstructionsAll information and steps are included in the installation instructions supplied with the actuator.

Mounting PositionThe actuators can be mounted in any desired orientation (no IP54 if mounted upside down; see Fig. 10). Choose an orientation permitting easy access to the actuator's cables and controls.

Mounting Bracket and ScrewsIf the actuator is to be mounted directly on a damper shaft, use the mounting bracket and screws included in the delivery package.

Voltage/Current Control SignalIn its default shipping position, dip switch 1 is set to OFF (voltage control; Y = 0 [2] … 10 V). Setting dip switch 1 to ON results in current control (Y = 0 [4] … 20 mA). Dip switch 2 is RESERVED for future use.

Floating and 2-Position Control ModeIf the actuator is wired for the floating or 2-position control mode (terminal 1 not powered), the actuator will operate according the signal from its control inputs (terminal 3 and terminal 4).

Position IndicationThe edge (see arrow in Fig. 8) of the hub adapter indicates the rotation angle position with respect to the rotational angle scales (0...90° / 90...0°).

Self-Centering Shaft AdapterThe self-centering shaft adapter can be used for shafts having various diameters (10...27 mm [3/8...1-1/16"]) and shapes (square or round). In the case of short shafts, the shaft adapter may be reversed and mounted on the duct side.

Stroke Limitation with Mechanical End LimitsThe mechanical end limits enable the stroke to be limited from 0...90° in increments of 5°.

WiringConnecting to the Power SupplyIn order to comply with protection class II, the power source of 24 V actuators must be reliably separated from the network power supply circuits as per DIN VDE 0106, part 101.

Access CoverTo facilitate wiring the actuator to the controller, the access cover can be detached from the actuator.

IMPORTANTRemove power before detaching the access cover.Once the access cover has been removed, pleasetake care to avoid damaging any of the parts now accessible

Depending upon the model, the access cover may have one or two terminal blocks, including a layout with a description for each of the terminals.
