On behalf of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, I would like to extend the opportunity for your school to be a part of the 2017 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix.

The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, which typically takes place in mid to late March, welcomes primary and secondary school students and teachers to the event free of charge as part of our education program, Driving Learning, a growing and stimulating part of the event specifically catering for young enquiring minds.

As the program has now evolved for over 10 years, Driving Learning profiles the subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), opening young minds to the endless opportunities available through studies in these fields.

In 2017, students and teachers can nominate to attend the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix on either Thursday or Friday no cost.

2017 program activities include:

• Student career auditorium style stage presentations featuring representatives from the technical areas of Formula One and the local motorsport industry;

• Student workshops where participants get hands-on experience with advancing technologies;

• Cutting edge displays showcasing local innovations and capabilities; and

• Peer to peer learning opportunities with a wide and varied range of like-minded students all participating in the Driving Learning education program.

In addition to the above mentioned activities, students also get to experience first-hand the unique magnitude of Australia largest ‘pop-up’ event showcasing Melbourne’s major events industry. This is the culmination of many industries working together including construction, engineering, hospitality, event management, temporary infrastructure design and implementation, entertainment, automotive sector, crowd management and catering to name a few. The scale and scope of the temporary venue produces, in itself, a stimulating display of potential career pathways.

THE INDUSTRY & INNOVATION PRECINCTLaunched in 2012, the Industry and Innovation Precinct (Precinct) was established to showcase and build Victorian industry profile and investment, while inspiring the next generation.

Free to students on the Thursday and Friday of the Formula One event, over 78,000 students have registered to attend the Precinct across the last five years.

The Precinct consists of various areas and facilities including a business networking area, student stage presentations, student workshop and education exhibition. The area is a hive of activity empowering the next generation to follow their passion into the world of STEM.
