Fleet Manager assigns the most appropriate aircraft type to each flight leg, thereby minimizing the effects of both spoilage (flying empty seats) and spill (failing to accommodate passengers). It combines economic and operational information in order to create solutions that are robust, feasible and profitable. It is also possible with Fleet Manager to perform the optimization on an O&D basis (similar to O&D revenue management) in order to explicitly model passenger flows across the network. Using this approach, capacity is assigned and revenue is managed according to the same information. Sabre AirVision Fleet Manager

Drive Overall Network Profitability Through Better Fleet Assignment Decisions

Fleet Assignment DecisionsAssigning aircraft to scheduled flight segments is one of the most important decisions affecting airline profitability. Yet there are so many factors that go into fleet assignment that the process can be frustrating or inefficient.

To maximize your revenue potential while minimizing your operational costs, you must consider overall airline profitability by including information from across your airline when making fleeting decisions. Revenue management, schedule, hub connectivity and customer traffic data should all be analyzed to optimize fleet assignment decisions.

Total Network ProfitabilitySabre ® AirVision™ Fleet Manager is a global schedule optimization system designed specifically to maximize your total network profitability.

Benefits

Increases Revenue

Maximize profitability by developing optimal fleet assignments for seasonal schedules based on forecasted average demand for a future schedule period based on passenger flows throughout the schedule network.

Enhance strategic planning by allowing planners to better identifying markets to retain or cancel and investigate the profitability of new hub structures.

Improve aircraft utilization by enabling planners to develop profitable schedules that simultaneously add a combination of fleeting and timing changes to the schedule.

Reduces costs

Improve short-term planning and better match planes to route demand with re-fleeting by day of week based on revenue management data. This helps take advantage of more accurate booking forecasts and variances in demand by day of week, especially among crew-compatible aircraft if within the crew bid period.

FeaturesFleet Manager offers several advanced capabilities for optimizing the schedule on a daily, typical week or fully dated basis.

It explicitly incorporates the network effects associated with passenger flows throughout the schedule.

Run modes You can run the system in two modes:

• Switching mode: Assigns optimal fleet types to a schedule without canceling any flight segments.

• Reduction mode: Optimally assigns fleet types to a schedule and cancels flight segments from a schedule based on either schedule profitability considerations or operational constraints.

Schedule re-timing You can adjust the schedule automatically through flight re-timings and ground time shaving (enabling sub-minimal aircraft turn times) to attain schedule feasibility and/or improve schedule profitability.

Enhance holiday and special events scheduling using the fully dated mode that helps plan aircraft deployments during peak travel days such as holidays and special events, incorporating the starting and ending positions of the aircraft.

Feasibility evaluation The system can perform a quick and accurate appraisal of the schedule in relation to all operational constraints.

User interface Fleet Manager has four main editors that enable you to set up, update and view results of their analysis using an analysis editor, constraint editor and report viewer.
