A heartfelt experience
Drive for life is an adapted adventure and leisure
service for children and adolescents who either do not fit
in, or do not get enough out of the traditional sports
and leisure services.
We gather children and adolescents with a common
interest for motor, motorsports and action, and
organise activities and team nights . Through this we
offer an unique experience and an environment for
learning, in a place where they feel at home.
Drive for life uses motor and motorsports as a basis for
giving children and adolescents positive experiences,
coping skills and increased social competence.
Drive for life want to give young people a motivation
for life. Providing inspiration, motivation and belief in
themselves and their future.
We want to use their basic skills, enhance it and build
social competence, so that they can build a life that
gives meaning and content.
- Drive for life is inspiring, unifying and heartfelt.
ONE NIGHT IN THE GARAGE
4 hours, 44 weeks every year, 5 adolescents
and 2 supervisors - a Drive for life team gathers
in the garage.
Each Drive for life member has his/hers own
dedicated follow-up plan. This plan is developed
together with the school, parents and relevant public
health care services. The night in the garage and the
individual follow-up plans are built on an educational
foundation - a foundation that is common for all
Drive for life teams. One slot in a team is allocated
through the public welfare system, and the
municipality is buyer of this service.
The Drive for life-concept is firmly anchored through
two years of work on Børseth activity center in Ler,
Norway.
WHY STATOIL AND DRIVE FOR LIFE
The Corporate Executive Committee has decided the
direction for Statoil Fuel & Retail’s social
investment strategy to be “youth at risk.” We are
working directly with and towards youth that are
considered to be in the danger zone of dropping out
of school and activities. They have an inherent drive
towards excitement, and clearly fit the bill as youth at
risk. Together we can help our target group by giving
them an alternative, a chance to be seen and heard
and thereby playing an important part in kickstarting
these important early phases in the race that is life.
A cooperation will give children that are either
institutionalized or on children’s welfare from more
than 20 different regions of Norway a new beginning
and a new community to become part of. We are also
working on a planned open activity programme that
will involve several thousand youths currently in the
danger zone. We want to give them a good, proud
community to be a part of, good alternatives, sense of
achievement and a new chance!

STATOIL AND DRIVE FOR LIFE
A close cooperation between Statoil and Drive for life will give many young considered to be «youth
at risk» a chance to be seen and heard and thereby playing an important part in kickstarting these
important early phases in the race that is life. In addition this cooperation can bring increased attention
about these important issues to Statoil`s customers, and give you as a Statoil-employees good team
experiences and a refill of knowledge about these important issues.
