JUDGE DREDD - THE VIDEO GAME

    COMMENT SHEET.

    Why Did It Fail ?

    1) Total approach not right for time of release. kids all want to fight/compete against each other, not work with each other. ideways p!nch kick/path games not pop!lar at this c!rrent time.

") First wa#e way to long, gets monotono!s too $!ickly.

    %) ho!ld &e at least two more enemies to fight in wa#e one, There sho!ld &e more di#ersity of&eha#ior &etween enemies

') (nly new thing as yo! go on thro!gh wa#e one is the &ackgro!nd

) *ot eno!gh special mo#es on Dredds part

+) The eight angle attacking is sometimes conf!sing, almost as if too m!ch control is gi#en to theplayer.

) The game gi#es yo! no feeling of accomplishment. When the wa#e is o#er the player is leftfeeling -so what ?-.

) There is not eno!gh -o#er&oard- acti#ities going on. The animations are not eaggeratedeno!gh, not eno!gh is made of eplosions etc.

    0) There are no skills to the game. (ne player doesn-t feel like he is getting &etter. What is thereto learn &esides where the secret shields are ?

    1) The control of Dredd doesn-t feel $!ite right, either he doesn-t react fast eno!gh or he reactstoo fast. 2lso the physics of the 3!mp and 3!mp kick are not right.

    11) The &ackgro!nd is too detailed and -&!sy-, the players eyes are drawn to what is going on&ehind them rather than on the play itself.

1") Too m!ch memory was spent on the &ackgro!nds rather than the principle characters

1%) The colors on all the principle characters were washed o!t, not &right eno!gh.

    1') The &ackgro!nd colors were not dark and fore&oding eno!gh, 4ega 5ity 1 is s!pposed to &ea dark, 6othic place not &right with pastel shades.

    1) The &alance for one player is off, it is far easier to play with two or three players than 3!st withone , which is &y far the ma3ority of play.

1+) The first &oss, Fink 2ngel is neither f!n to play nor is he a challenge. 2lso, it is not eplainedwho a half naked scrawny r!nt is &eating the crap o!t of a trained law enforcement officer. Thisdoesn-t make sense.

    1) The sewer wa#e is not necessary and hinders the action

    1) The holographic target shoot o!t is f!n to point, &!t ser#es no p!rpose in the game.

    10) The citi7en walking across the &ack of the street does not respond to all the #iolence andmayhem going on in the play area. The only reaction is when she is hit. This does not make

    sense.

") There is not eno!gh interaction with the &ackgro!nd. What there is is hidden and there is nocl!e 8or incenti#e) to work it o!t.

"1) The &lock war flying characters look wrong and don-t make m!ch sense.

"") The licence has not &o!ght the game anything. *ot eno!gh people know who 9!dge Dreddis and what the world he inha&its is like. The game is f!ll of little points which Dredd officadoeswill pick !p &!t are meaningless to the a#erage game player. Whilst the fighting is &etter thanT!rtles or :;4en, they ha#e a m!ch more readily identifia&le player image, which helps themalong.

2lso, this licence pre#ents the player from fighting other 9!dges since it is a primary re$!isite thatthe 9!dges ne#er &e seen to do anything which might &e constr!ed as &reaking the law.

    What Was 6ood ?

    1) The ca&inet looked #ery cool.

") The game path concept was neat, altho!gh each mission sho!ld ha#e &een part of a greatero#erall mission

%) edo the palettes for each of the principle characters making more of their colors.

+) >edo the palettes for the wa#e 1 &ackgro!nd making it seem more dark.

    ) 4ore interaction with &ackgro!nd

    ) >o&ot wa#e m!ch less diffic!lt, make enemies less aggressi#e

    0) 4ake &oss monsters react smarter and make their deaths more impressi#e so a feeling ofaccomplishment is felt.

    1) 6i#e more and &etter power!ps for the g!n.

    11) 4ake the shooting gallery matter. 6i#e power!ps for the net wa#e &ased on performance.

1") >e film Dredd, doing more, to allow for more secret mo#es.

1%) erhaps ha#e some of the work of fighting done for yo!, ie when p!nch &!tton pressed, makeDredd always face the nearest enemy.

1') Wait !ntil the film comes o!t and ride the hype
