Drawdown control is nowautomatic with new low-flowwater level meter

Limiting drawdown is one of the basics of low-flow sampling. TheMP30 Drawdown/Water Level Meter provides a new, simpler way to

assure drawdown control. The MP30 performs as a drawdown sensor and control when con-

nected to the MicroPurge® basics controllers, and as a high qualitywater level meter. The MP30 switches between both modes.

For drawdown control the meter is turned to MicroPurge mode andthe probe is lowered to the point of maximum drawdown. If purginglowers the water level to the selected point, a light and buzzer on theMP30 meter are activated and the controller is signaled to enter astandby mode until the water level rises again. A separate light indi-cates probe submergence in both modes.

Automatic protectionagainst excessive purging

The MP30 Drawdown/WaterLevel Meter is unique. With its linkto the basics Controller for auto-matic drawdown control, you’llnever have to worry about over-purging a monitoring well again.

By constantly keeping track ofwell level for you, the MP30removes one of the variables thatcan make low-flow sampling achallenge. Even if distractionsoccur, you’ll have the confidenceof knowing that the well will notbe pumped down to excessivedrawdown levels that could com-promise your sample integrity.

To use Automatic DrawdownControl, the MP30 is switched toMicroPurge Mode and connectedto the MP10 or MP15 Controllerwith the supplied link cable. Whenthe probe is placed at the selecteddepth in the well, the submer-gence light stays on and there isno buzzer.

If drawdown reaches the probe,the level shutoff light and buzzerare activated. The linked controllerhalts pump cycling until the wellrecovers and reaches the probe;then pumping resumes automati-cally.

The MP30 (right) links to the MP10 or MP15 basics Controllers to providecontinuous control of well level during low-flow purging and sampling. Ifthe preset maximum drawdown level is reached, the MP30 signals the con-troller to put pumping on standby mode until the well level recovers.
