Dr.J.Agarwal and his family members. The
above company was incorporated in 1994, though the entire family
has been in the profession of
providing total eye care solutions for almost five decades prior
to this, through various private limited
company and partnership firms, owned by the family members. The
Hospital has always been at the
forefront of every medical advancements in the field of
ophthalmic care in the world and has several
firsts to its credit. The Hospital is engaged in conducting
continuous training and research and
development programs and has over a period, developed an
excellent team of highly skilled Ophthalmic
specialists and surgeons, to assist in its growth plans.
The Hospital, after notching up an impressive success in

History:
In 1927 Armed with a degree in medicine and the ambition to
create an eye hospital of repute
DR.R.S.AGARWAL left his hometown of Bulandshar and came to the
big city Delhi. Here he set up his
practice in one of the by lanes of the busy central areas of
Delhi called Darya Ganj.
In 1934 with the blessings of the Mother he set about healing
the eyes of the people of the southern
French colony of Pondicherry and set about the School for
Perfect Eyesight.
After independence Dr. Agarwal was running a successful
establishment in Delhi as well as in
Pondicherry.
In 1956 Dr. J. Agarwal s/o of Dr. R.S. Agarwal, just finished
his post-graduation in Ophthalmology from
Aligarh and set up their practice in the southern metropolis of
Madras along his wife Dr.Mrs.T.Agarwal.
On December 15th 1976 Dr. J. Agarwal constructed an eye hospital
in the shape of an eye in Southern
city of Chennai.

In 1984 they started training Centre in department of
ophthalmology with microbiology and pathology
alongsideThe training center had hospital beds, which could
number over 50 and resident training
programs for four eye surgeons.
They also participated in various Ophthalmological conventionsin
various countries like Sri Lanka,
Singapore, India, Maldives, Hungary, South Africa, and
Thailand
Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital reaches yet another milestone with
the inauguration of India's first
VisanteAnterior segment Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
device, for advanced diagnosis and
monitoring of Anterior segment disorders. Renowned Tamil poet,
Ms. KanimozhiKarunanidhi,
inaugurated this new device on 23rd December 2006.

Inauguration of 5 new hospitals in Bengaluru
Dr. Agarwal's Eye hospital has launched its 5 New Hospitals in
Bengaluru on 18th January, 2011. The
branch was inaugurated by Dr.B.S.Yeddyurappa(Honorable chief
Minister of Karnataka). This hospital is
the Centre of excellence for complete eye care in the
locality.
This hospital is equipped to deliver latest eye care Surgeries
and Lasers which includes advancedcataract surgeries (Phaco),
Retinal lasers, Glaucoma, Squint and Oculoplasty, Pediatric
Ophthalmology,
Lasik etc. The Hospital also has the facility of Optical Stores,
Lab and Pharmacy.

CSR:
The eye research center was started by DrJaiveerAgarwal and
DrTahiraAgarwal as their free eye care
unit. It conducts free eye camps all over Tamil Nadu and
neighboring states. The team of postgraduates,
optometrists and nurses is sent out to villages, towns and
districts wherein the postgraduates get a wide
clinical experience hands on. The care ranging from treatment to
surgeries is carried out by consultants
along with postgraduates.
Financials:
In 2011 it was achieved turnover of Rs.104.22 crores as compared
to the turnover of Rs. 88.89 crores in
2010, which is 17% growth over the previous year level. The
profit before tax was Rs.361.56 lakhs as
compared to Rs.99.21 lakhs in the year 2010.
Again in 2012 achieved a turnover of Rs.105.68 crore as compared
to the turnover of Rs. 104.21 crore in
the year 2011 but the profit before tax was Rs.292.28 lakhs as
compared to Rs. 361.56 lakhs in the year
2011 which was comparatively low from previous year and the
growth falls down in PBT.
During the year 2013, the company had achieved a turnover of
Rs.109.73 crore as compared to Rs.
105.68 crore in the last year. The profit before tax was Rs 443
lakhs as compared to Rs. 292 lakhs in the
previous year, which is 34% growth over the previous year level.
There is a significant growth occurs in
the year 2013.
