2020 Student Design Show Submission GUIDELINES All entries for the 2020 Student Design Show are due by March 24 th , end of the day. You will need to submit a MOUNTED PIECE with correctly prepared LABEL for hanging in the show, as well as a digital file prepared correctly for the SHOW WEB ARCHIVE and JUDGING site. Students, please submit entries to your specified instructors on each campus. Instructors will coordinate the delivery of the work to the iMET center. ELIGIBILITY Any student that has participated in the Summer 2019, Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 Graphic Communications or Photography courses may submit artwork into the show per the guidelines below. ANY work created or completed after the last year’s show deadline (April 4 th , 2019), and NOT PREVIOUSLY entered in the last show by a student attending during any of the above listed terms may also enter that piece. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION ARE AS FOLLOWS 1. There is a limit of 5 entries per student. A set comprises a single entry. It should be on a single board if possible. (Example sets: Logo design with letterhead, business card and envelope, a set of three photos in a series) 2. All work should be mounted neatly on black board with at least a two-inch border. Avoid excessive borders, we have limited display space. Work that is not neatly mounted may not be allowed into the show. 3. All work should be mounted individually, unless the work represents a set. 4. All tissue and flaps should be removed previous to submission. 5. All non-digital work should include a white label (1” x 2.83”) in the lower right hand corner. This label is the standard address label #5660 from Microsoft Word. Use 9 point Helvetica in black on white for the type. This label should include: • Student name • Title of the work & category (categories and abbreviations listed below) * • Brief description as to how the work was created (software, media, etc.) • If ANY stock images were used in your project or a combination of original and stock please note. 6. ON THE BACK of EACH PIECE, note which campus the work should be returned to using a separate label or the name of the campus written in pencil. 7. IN addition to a properly mounted piece, all work needs to ALSO be submitted in a DIGITAL FORMAT to be considered a complete entry for judging. Any pieces not submitted in both formats will be excluded from judging/awards. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIGITAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES LISTED IN THE NEXT SECTION. GUIDELINES FOR DIGITAL FILE SUBMISSION. IN ADDITION to submitting a mounted piece (correctly prepared) for the show, ALL WORK MUST ALSO BE ELECTRONICALLY SUBMITTED TO GOOGLE FORMS. 1. Submit your file at an absolute maximum size of 3000 x 2400 pixels (at screen resolution or 72ppi), and an absolute minimum size of 1000x 800 (at screen resolution or 72ppi). Your file may be different proportions between those sizes.
