STEP 1: We are Rolling!

We need to roll out the slabs first because they need to become leather hard before we can construct our Dr. Seuss inspired houses.

The slaps should be between ¼ inch and ½ inch thick

Since you do not know exactly how much you will need, you should roll out a minimum the size of 3 sheets of paper - It does not need to be one giant slap

It is important that you roll out your slabs the same width – if an area is too thin, it will break

Step 2: Come up with an idea, man!

Remember to include in your sketch:

The shape of the front/back and each side of your house

How many windows are there and where are they going to be placed within your sketch

Is there a door and does it lead to an exit?

Are you using geometric shapes, organic shapes or both?

Remember to include a base for your house to sit on

Do not forget to include a sketch for your roof

Draw a sketch of your Dr. Seuss inspired house to the same size ofthe house you plan to build

House size should not be taller or wider than 6 to 8 inches

connect with your clay tools

• Slip: Add the watered down version of your clay to both sides you are attaching. This is the glue for clay!

• Sew: Use your fingers or a clay tool to attach the two sides together
