Dr. Moritz Philipp
Moritz Philipp is a member of the firm’s Tax Group. His practice area comprises all aspects of
national and international tax law. He focuses on the tax aspects of corporate reorganizations as
well as on M&A and financing transactions and provides advice in the context of tax audits.
Prior to joining Milbank, Moritz worked in the tax group of a magic circle law firm in Frankfurt.
He studied business administration and economics at the University of Mannheim and the Queen’s
School of Business, Kingston, Ontario (Canada). Moreover, he was a graduate assistant at the
University of Freiburg where he also received his PhD.
Moritz has published extensively on, inter alia, international and reorganization tax law and was
awarded one of Germany’s most renowned prizes in the field of tax law for his dissertation on the
tax treatment of corporate mergers.
He is admitted as a German tax advisor (Steuerberater) and speaks both German and English.
