ASSESSING INTERACTIONAL COMPETENCE

IN EFL/ESL CONTEXTS This talk centers on interaction in L2 oral tests, with a particular focus on the relation between interactional patterns and assessment. Drawing on several research projects on the national test of English in Sweden, I address challenges for raters, test-takers, and test constructors, illustrated in conversation analytic studies of interaction between learners, and between teachers-as-raters.
