� Place the DR 400 on a stable surface � The DR 400 surroundings must be well ventilated, dry and free from dust � The DR 400 needs a 5Amp power socket nearby. � Avoid keeping DR 400 in direct sunlight or under severe temperature fluctuations � Use the power adapter supplied with the printer

Power ON 1. Make sure printer and computer both are in power off mode. 2. Plug interface cable into printers data interface, plug the other side into 25 pin Parallel Port of PC, (or

plug it into 9-pin Serial Port of PC), Printer communicates with Serial or Parallel interface of computer. 3. Plug RJ-11 joint into Cash Drawer’s (if available) interface. (Cash Drawer’s spec. must match with

Diver’s spec.) 4. Connect the specified power adaptor. Please use only the power adaptor supplied with the printer.

Note:

(1) Switch OFF the printer before removing the interface cable, RJ-11joint or adaptor (2) Use only the Original power adaptor with the printer. (3) Don’t connect phone-line into Cash Drawer interface.

Installation of Paper Roll and Ribbon Please install after turn on the printer with indicators on. a. Open the top cover b. Install the paper roll as the picture showing direction c. Insert the end of the bottom paper into the paper take-up spool, be sure that the paper is aligned with the spool’s flange so that the paper is taken up by the spool. d. Cut redundant paper by the cutter. e. Open the printer’s cover, turn the knob five or six Rotations of the Hub wheel in the direction of the arrow, insert the ink ribbon, and push the ribbon cassette down until it clicks.

Driver Installation DR 400 Supports Windows 9X/Me/2000/XP, use Windows add printer utility & give the path of the CD to Install the Drivers.(files are available in Windows Directory in CD) For Text Printing in DOS Mode No need for any driver. If its used for any POS application, ensure you send ESC/POS codes only .

3. Safety Precautions

• Don’t touch the printer head with hand.

• Don’t touch the cutter blade with hand.

• Don’t bend the power cord excessively or place any heavy objects onto it.

• Don’t use the printer when it is not Initializing. This can damage Printer.

• Only use the Original power adaptor that is supplied along with the printer.

• When connecting or disconnecting the cables, always hold the plug-not the cord.

• Keep the product out of children’s reach.

• Call our authorized service provider (ASP) for any Repair and do not try to disassemble, or repair yourself.

• Install the printer on the stable surface. Choose firm, level surface where the printer will not vibrate during printing.

• Don’t let water or any other liquid & foreign objects in the printer.

• Don’t connect a telephone line into the cash drawer connector.

• We recommend that you unplug the printer from the power whenever you do not plan to use it for long periods

• For good performance and safety of the printer, use only WeP consumables.

4. Operations Buttons, and Indicators Power Switch Power supply switch is at left of the printer. Press “ON” to turn ON, and press “OFF” to turn OFF. FEED Button to feed roll paper When the indicator is ON status Press “FEED” to move paper. Error Indicator This indicator is ON if there is any error in the operation. Power Indicator The POWER light is on whenever the printer in on. Paper Indicator The paper light is ON whenever there is no paper inside the printer. Printer Self Test Hold FEED Button & Power ON Hold the FEED Button for 3 seconds & release the switch. HEX DUMP Hold FEED Button & Power ON (Keep holding the Button for 10 Seconds & then release)

It will print as Hexadecimal Dump. Indicating that it is in HEXDUMP mode. Switch OFF to come out from this mode. Cash Drawer Interface 6-line RJ-11socket Output electrical signal DC 24V/1A to drive the Cash Drawer. Functions Pin NO & Signal 1 NC No connection 2 Frame GND 3 NC No connection 4 Drive Signal 5 NC No connection 6 NC No connection Black Mark Anchor control Printer’s structure and corresponding parameter (1) The distance from dot head to paper- cutting line is 15mm. (2) The distance from dot head to the black mark test switch is 28mm Black Mark Printing Proceeding: (1) The black mark must locate on the front and on the left of the receipt (2) The black mark printing size should be 12*5mm (W*H) (3) The density of black mark should be strong enough, other part should be white enough Black Mark Anchor Support pre-printing anchor with black mark paper

5. Preventive Maintenance. Cleaning the Print Head (On following conditions only clean the PRINT Head) (1) Printing is not clear (2) Some characters are not clear. (3) Much noise while feeding the paper roll. How to Clean the Print Head (1) Ensure Printer is OFF, and open the cover, remove the paper role. (2) Waiting for some time as it takes sometime to cool the print head (3) Remove blackish dust collected on the surface of the head, wipe it with soft cloth. Cleaning the Paper Holder (On following conditions to clean the paper holder) (1) Printing lines are not uniform (2) Noise while feeding the paper roll. (3) Paper Jam

How to Clean the Paper Holder (1) Turn OFF the printer, and open the cover, Remove paper. (2) To remove dust collected on the surface of the PE sensor & wipe it with soft cloth. Note (1) Make sure the printer is OFF before cleaning it. (2)Print Head is easy to damage, so clean it gently with a soft cloth. Take sufficient care not to scratch it when cleaning it. (3) Don’t use acetone or gas such solvent.

6. Basic Trouble shooting. Indicator’s on the control panel are not glowing Check power line connect with printer, adaptor, socket correctly. Check the printer power on or not. (1) Set the printer power off, and check if paper is jammed. (2) If not jammed but printer has worked for long time, then wait for the Print head to cool, the printer will continue printing after cooling. (3) If neither paper jam nor HOT, switch the printer power off, and then restart after 10 minutes. (4) all the above things are done still printer is not Powering ON. Call WeP authorized Service person to service

9. Printer Settings

‘O’ Bounti DR - 400 has 8 DIP Switches for selection of printer settings. Following table describes the functioning of the switches. DIP Switches are placed at the bottom of the printer. Please turn the printer upside

down to access the DIP Switch.
