Meter Rates and HoursThe meters require $.25 cents for 15 minutes, or $1.00 for 1 hour in most areas. There are 1 hour, 2, hour and 4 hour meters strategically located throughout the area.
The meters are in effect from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Parking at a meter after the time has expired is against the law. It’s also against the law to extend your time at a meter beyond the time limit posted. It is called meter feeding, and it is illegal.
The CitationParking citations are issued by LEXPARK and the Lexington Police Department. Parking citations range from $15.00 - $250.00 and escalate by $15.00 if not paid in 10 days. For more information on citation rates visit http://www.lexpark.org

The BootBe sure to pay your citations promptly! Owners of vehicles who have three or more unpaid parking citations, may have their vehicle booted and even towed. The boot, a mechanical lock on the vehicle’s wheel, can only be removed after all fines and penalties, plus a special booting penalty, are paid.
