FLANGE INSPECTION

QualSpec offers a developed and proven ultrasonic inspection technique to accurately detect cracking in Ring Type Joint Flanges while on-line. Our technicians can perform this technique at contact temperatures as high as 900°F, and the sensitivity is based on indication/crack depth of 0.100” from the bottom of the ring groove. With this screening technique, clients can prioritize and schedule fl ange maintenance, repair and replacement pior to or during turnaround.

Using advanced Phased Array techniques, QualSpec has improved early detection while the unit is still on-line and in production.

Corrosion on raised face gasket seating surfaces of hydrofl uoric acid units can lead to severe environmental and health hazard risks, so early in-service detection is a major key to preventing accidental releases.

Our team specializes in Industrial Rope Access for inspection, maintenance and NDE services. Multi-disciplined technicians use rope access methods to safely reach areas of concern and perform work ranging from small tasks to major projects. Industrial Rope Access provides a fl exible, cost-effective alternative to scaffolding for industries with diffi cult to reach locations.

Our technicians are fi eld-trained according to guidelines set by both the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) and Society of Profes-sional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT). Rope access services include overhead line and tower inspections and hydraulic bolt torquing.

We take a four-pronged approach to safety that includes planning, meeting, rigging and redundant systems. Level III rope access safety supervisors assess, plan and document every job before we begin. Our equipment is inspected routinely and meets or exceeds Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements.

MAINTENANCE PLANNING & SCHEDULING

QualSpec coordinates maintenance activities from daily needs to major turnaround inspections and emergency outages.

Our experienced team of maintenance planners and schedulers use our Mechanical Equipment Tracking System (METS), in combination with industry standard planning software. These tools enable us to provide the status of pressure equipment, as well as maintenance and inspection activities for every item on a turnaround work scope for each shift.

For budget purposes, QualSpec planners can assist with the compilation and cost projections of maintenance activities. Once the maintenance plan is implemented, we can track actual costs for budget adherence and variances. Our planners will identify the critical path and allocate the appropriate resources to complete your turnaround on schedule.




ON-STREAM INSPECTION

QualSpec can assist with API-570 Piping Inspection Code Compliance for your current piping inspection program, or with setting up a new compre-hensive API-570 piping program. Our services include visual and ultra-sonic thickness surveys, corrosion rate determination and predictive life assessments.

We use the latest equipment designed to take accurate thickness measure-ments under the most adverse conditions. Once we’ve collected the data, we organize it and provide a detailed, user-friendly report that allows you to understand and manage your inspection data.

ON-STREAM PIPING INSPECTION




QualSpec Pipeline Inspection Management (PIM) teams provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) consulting for new pipeline construction or refurbishment. Our PIM lead inspectors are experienced and qualifi ed in directing and coordinating all inspection activities.

QualSpec submits a daily report to the pipeline project manager describing the status and all aspects of the pipeline construction project.

REFRACTORY INSPECTION

QualSpec monitors your refractory installation process and can assist in the design, selection and inspection of your refractory systems for shop surveillance, new construction and maintenance activities.

Testing and inspection go hand-in-hand to ensure a proper, cost-effective installation. As a result, QualSpec’s refractory inspection services come with a complete testing laboratory, equipped to evaluate the physical properties of refractory materials. Our API-936 qualifi ed inspectors provide on-site quality control and testing with the use of our portable refractory laboratories. The lab is equipped with everything required to perform a standard American Society for Testing and Materials (ATSM) refractory evaluation, which allows us to provide a thorough and accurate representa-tion of the installed product.

Our inspectors track all of the maintenance activities for the fi xed equip-ment utilizing the QualSpec Maintenance Equipment Tracking System (METS). METS includes the equipment tracking charts, daily activity log, repair and recommendations (RR) reports, RR log and turnaround inspec-tion reports. Additionally, we provide recommendations for cleaning, repairs, inspection and scheduling in accordance with the current codes, standards and recommended practices. Our inspectors ensure that all repairs adhere to your repair procedures.

Comprehensive reports are included in each turnaround inspection, along with a turnaround inspection tracking system that helps you stay on top of any inspections performed for your equipment on the turnaround work scope. As soon as your project is complete, QualSpec provides you with a comprehensive turnaround inspection report, complete with CAD drawings.
