DOUBLE STACKED

ANTI-VANDAL CABINS

T Manners & Sons Ltd is an award winning regional construction company based in the North East of England. The company was awarded a new contract to create student accommodation in the heart of the city of Durham – the home of one of the UK’s leading universities.

The project was to refurbish the former 2 storey Durham City Companions Club and extend it by adding a 3rd floor and building a new 4 storey extension to create facilities for the ever-growing student population in the city.

Working on a small restricted site with inadequate facilities and amenities for a large workforce the site manager called on Pickerings to provide temporary workspace and material storage for the length of the 40 weeks contract.

Pickerings provided a range of anti-vandal portable cabins that were prepared and delivered from their local hire depot in Middlesbrough. To overcome the site restrictions Pickerings placed steel storage containers on the ground and safely installed double stacked cabins on top of them to optimise ground space on site. Access to the upper cabins was provided by steel staircase.

The solution is a complex of amenities for the site workers and sufficient material storage to meet site requirements.
