Course Description
• This course has been structured to teach students the fundamentals of Algebra 1. Topics of discussion will include:
• Foundations of Algebra• Equations and Inequalities• Descriptive Statistics• Relations and Functions• Linear Models• Exponential Models• Polynomial Expressions• Quadratic Functions• Rational Functions
Grading Policy
• Students grades will be based as follows:• A: 90-100, B: 80-89, C: 70-79, D: 60-69, F: 59 or
below
• Tests are 50% of the grade• Quizzes are 30% of the grade• Classwork /Homework/Other is 20% of the grade
Class and Supplemental Materials
• Students are expected to bring:
• Pencil/ Red Pen / Highlighter
• 3 ring Folder with textbook pages of current chapter
• Previous class notes
• Any supplemental material
• Class Fees will be paid online.
• Students are to use the textbook Glencoe Algebra 1 by McGraw Hill (Common Core Edition)

• Students are expected to bring complete their Carnegie weekly assignments by Sunday nights at 8pm.
• Given a pacing guide at the beginning of school year showing all deadlines for the first semester (middle of January).
• Only technical assistance a teacher can give is to reset password or restart and unresponsive problem. (*Must be given notice during the school week.)
Student Expectations
• Students are to come prepared and ready to learn. That means having all materials and having completed any homework that was assigned.
• After 3 verbal warnings and a call home student will receive a detention for not improving or modifying his/her behavior.
• Electronic devices are not allowed in class. (It will be confiscated and sent to the main office per school policy).
• Eating and Drinking are not allowed in my classroom unless a student has a valid medical reason that has been cleared by the office (i.e. a diabetic student).
• Bathroom passes are for emergencies only- will be given three passes per nine week unless a student has a valid medical reason that has been cleared by the office.
• Complete their homework daily and continually studying for the course.
