Speakers

Dr. Kevin WaldeDr. Walde graduated with his Orthodontic Certification from Saint Louis University. He is in private practice, in Washington, Missouri and is an As-sistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Graduate Orthodontics at the Center for Advanced Dental Education, Saint Louis University.

Dr. Gerry AhrensDr. Ahrens completed his orthodontic residency at New York University’s School of Dentistry focusing mainly on self-ligating brackets and the mechanics involved with their use. After his graduation, Dr. Ahrens began practicing with his father, Dr. Doug Ahrens, a board certified orthodontist, in Louisville, KY.

Dr. Steve HoughDr. Hough completed his orthodontic training at Loyola University. Upon graduation, he returned to St. Louis to start a private practice. Since then, Dr. Hough has been involved with several practice management groups and programs, both as a participant and as an instructor.

Dr. Abraham LifshitzDr. Lifshitz graduated from the University of Iowa with his Orthodontic Certificate, and a Master of Science in May of 1982. Since 1984 he has held teaching positions at several universities in Mexico, in 2008 he began teaching at Nova University in Southern Florida.

Course Outlines

The TAD Supported FROG – This course will describe the development or “evolution” of the Frog, the important steps for proper laboratory fabrication and the clinical delivery of the appliance. Additionally case selection will be discussed and treated cases will be shown.

Hand’s On FROG Session – This course will focus on the correct fabrication of the FROG appliance to obtain the optimal results of distalizing molars.

Self-Ligating – This course will cover the history of SL, A comparison of SL brackets, how implementing SL brackets can change your practice, the use of auxiliaries with the BioQuick bracket, solutions for Class I, II & III cases, wire sequencing, finishing with SL and other common problems, tricks & tips (removing a broken bracket, tandom wires, etc) and how to advertise and sell the bracket in the office.

Strengthening Your Practice – This course will discuss the importance of being well grounded in who you are as a practice while you position yourself in your community as an orthodontic provider. We will look at ways to develop and implement your practice’s vision and purpose as well as ways to build and strengthen your team (staff and patients) to support your vision which will help you prosper in all seasons.

Skelatal Anchorage – This course will take a detailed look at Skelatal Anchorage. You will explore the possibilities of this unique practice, and how to effectively use the tools available with Skelatal Anchorage. Topics covered include: What is a TAD, TAD Placement, Inserstion Methods, Direct & Indirect Anchorage, Osseointegration and Possible Risks.

C.E. Credits8 C.E. Credits from the Missouri Dental Association are available for the Lecture Summit. You must attend both days of lecture to receive full credit.
