Donna Meehan Donna Meehan had been living in a little camp called Ganamble, she had lived with her people for the first 5 years of her life until she was taken away. Donna Meehan’s mother had explained that were all going to be catching a train for fun and because only rich kids could go on trains Donna was more excited than ever. All dressed up and ready to go Donna and her brothers ran onto the train not taking any notice of who was there and after she had taken her seat she realised her Mum and Aunties weren’t on the train she looked out of the window and saw her Mum I tears waving goodbye knowing that she would never see her children again. Her brothers had been taken off at Sydney but Donna Meehan was forced to stay on the train until she arrived in New Castle, there were lots of cars, buildings and different noises. She was given a new family but these were white people, she was now an only child. Kids use to tease her at each school moved to because of the colour of her skin, her white family were very supportive and treated her family yet Donna still felt alone. It had taken Donna 35 years to feel comfortable where she was and so she lived on happy with her life.
