Don’t talk to strangers? Don’t talk to strangers? Don’t talk to strangers? Have your parents ever told you not to talk to strangers? Well, your parents want to make sure you are safe. Sometimes strangers might not always be so safe. But in today’s Gospel reading, we hear about how our Lord Jesus Christ did just that...He talked to a stranger! In the story, Jesus spoke to a woman. She was from Samaria, so she was a foreigner, somebody not like Him. But He talked with her because He wanted to help her. He wanted to tell her how she could worship God. Then, at the end of the story, we hear how the woman went out and told everybody about Jesus. She wanted all her friends to know about Him too! We can find lots of places in the Bible where Jesus talks to strangers. Jesus touched the eyes of a stranger who was blind, and He let him see. Jesus went into the house of a stranger named Zacchaeus, and He changed his whole life. Jesus touched the hand of a stranger who had a very catchy skin disease, and He healed him. Of course, we should always listen to our parents’ good advice. But we should also know that our Lord talked to—and even touched—strangers! God loves us so much, and He is always reaching out to help people who need help! to talk to strangers? Well, your parents

want to make sure you are safe. Sometimes

strangers might not always be so safe.

But in today’s Gospel reading, we hear about

how our Lord Jesus Christ did just that...He

talked to a stranger! In the story, Jesus spoke to

a woman. She was from Samaria, so she was a

foreigner, somebody not like Him. But He talked

with her because He wanted to help her. He

wanted to tell her how she could worship God.

Then, at the end of the story, we hear how the woman went out and told

everybody about Jesus. She wanted all her friends to know about Him too!

We can find lots of places in the Bible where Jesus talks to strangers. Jesus

touched the eyes of a stranger who was blind, and He let him see. Jesus went

into the house of a stranger named Zacchaeus, and He changed his whole

life. Jesus touched the hand of a stranger who had a very catchy skin disease,

and He healed him.

Of course, we should always listen to our parents’ good advice. But we should

also know that our Lord talked to—and even touched—strangers! God loves

Jesus met the woman in the Gos-

drawing water out of it, so she

could drink.

Can you find the well? Can you

Did you ever wonder how the

Christian Church grew and grew?

The world is a big place, of course! Well, some

people became Christian after they heard the

good news of Jesus Christ from the apostles.

Other people heard about Him from mission-

aries. But other people became Christian be-

cause their kings or queens became Christian

first! They were really leaders in the faith!

Saint Chlotilda was queen of France about

1,500 years ago. Her husband was Arian (he didn’t be-

lieve that Jesus is God), but Chlotilda convinced her husband to be-

lieve the truth of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They

baptized their children in the name of the Holy Trin-

ity. Then, after that, more people in France followed

their king’s beliefs too.

When Chlotilda grew old, some of her children

fought about who would be in power in France. But

Chlotilda tried to stay away from these sad fights.

She tried to grow closer to God too. She spent lots of

time in prayer. She gave lots of money to build

churches and monasteries. Saint Chlotilda, pray for

us!
