A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT: The purpose of the Garland Sports Hall of Fame is to honor deserving individuals who have contributed to athletics in the Garland ISD, and to stimulate continued interest in sports participation and activities. On behalf of the members of GSHF Board of Governors, I would like to express our appreciation to our many supporters for helping us to work toward accomplishing this goal. Over the past twenty-seven years, 108 athletes have been chosen to receive special recognition by induction into the Garland Sports Hall of Fame. Each year, an Honor Team is also recognized. In addition to the formal inductions, an outstanding male and female athlete from GISD high schools is chosen to receive the Gale Fields Award. Each is honored with a $1000 scholarship or a $500 donation to the respective high school. Other donations to the Garland Special Olympics and to the Pee Wee Football Association have allowed children with special needs or fi nancial hardships to participate in various sports activities. In order to make this event possible each year, the GSHF depends primarily on ticket sales and private independent sponsorships. To help keep this very worthwhile event alive, we request your support by attending this year’s banquet and / or supporting the Hall of Fame with your sponsorship. Please see more details inside.
