Dear Ms Ruggeri, Thank you for your email and sorry for my late reply. It is correct that there is only one type of filter in RO600 – carbon block. This is a combined particle and carbon filter. When the unit indicates filter change, both filters should be exchanged since they are connected in parallel. When changing only one, one filter will be completely blocked and all water will run through the only remaining functioning filter. In the case of RO400 however, the schematics show two different filters – one particle filter and one granulated carbon filter. In this case, the filters have a serial connection where the first filter removes particles and the second removes odours, chlorine etc. I am afraid that the documentation is not completely up to date, but above explanation should help.
