HTL St. Plten project.Ground-level safety equals productivity.Numerous light slots ranging along the front, impressive cantilevering elements andinterior spaces characterised by acute angles pose what contractor Aigelsreiter rec-ognised as a major test in formworking on this project. Aigelsreiter has opted for thenew Dokadek 30 panel oor formwork for the 17,000 m of oor slabbing here in the

version without drophead , and is now achieving the excellent forming time of a mere12 minutes per m.

Challenging boundary conditions

Eight months to completion on the car-cass work, limited crane capacities, per-fect visuals for the deck underside, a highlevel of site safety and, needless to say,progress as steady and as rapid as pos-sible are all on the project owners agen-da. Aptly prepared with 1,800 m of ournew Dokadek 30 panel oor formwork,the Aigelsreiter site crew is well able forthe challenge. The decision to go with thenew Dokadek 30 formwork system wasdriven by economic considerations. Thesystem is rentable, and it is also easy tohandle and ideal for the site.

Aigelsreiter lead foreman Anton Hudlhas this to say: This is a bulkhead-typestructure with any number of wall sec-tions and the openings are narrow, sothe oor formwork has to be manoeu-vred on to its side to pass through. There

are three-level parapets and lintels thatmake using a transport fork anything buteasy. Dokadek 30 is ideal on a build withboundary conditions as complicated asthis. The panels are shifted easily andquickly around the oor with the DekDriveshifting trolley, easy to move and sizedto t through any doorway. The panelswould have to be lifted from level to level,so a folding platform K was installed onthe outside of the building. lift is all it takes to move an entire stack ofpanels up one level. Rooms with acute in-terior angles are an architectural feature,so that means setting up a variety of ts

and stops. Dokadek 30 is perfect for this job. With every justication it claims to bethe rst oor formwork system to enableimpressive forming times to be main-tained at inlls, not just on standard ats.

The progress analyses conducted on sitehave conrmed this capability.

Safety rst in formworking

The Aigelsreiter crew is particularly im-pressed by the safety and rapidity theydevelop with this oor formwork. Thestandard slab ats are 3.30 metres aboveground level, but with the rectangularpanels they can be formed ergonomicallyfrom the safety of the oor. A lift-out lockintegrated into each Dokadek 30 headholds the panels reliably in position, en-

Regular patterning

Xlife sheeting is tried and tested in DokasFramax and Frami framed formwork sys-tems, so it comes as no surprise that inthe Dokadek 30 system it again contrib-

utes to an excellent concrete result anduniform join pattern. It is highly durableand its characteristics include easy re-conditioning and low water absorption.On the St. Plten build the panels hardlyeven have to be cleaned between cyclesand the Xlife surface is so smooth that -nal cleaning after site usage is quick andeasy with a high-pressure cleaner. Man-aging Director Ernst Aigelsreiter sums up

succinctly: The benets of Dokadek 30really make a difference on the build.My crew works at its best capacity leveland saves time. We are very satised.Lead foreman Anton Hudl adds: Whatimpresses me is the high level of safety.

All the routines are self-explanatory andthe work gets done safely at ground level.

This is exactly how oor formwork sys-tems should work.
