This enabled what was originally a small workshop to develop into one of the biggest players in Austria’s woodworking industry. In 1868 Stefan Hopferwieser, great-grandfather of present-day owners Hilde and Alfred Umdasch, obtained an official 'Permit for operat-ing a carpentry business'. The first Doka formwork sheets were produced in 1956, destined for use on construction of a power plant. Two years later, in 1958, Doka Austria was founded. Nowadays, as part of the Umdasch Group, the Doka Group is among the global leaders in the development, production and sales of formwork technology.
