Did you know Applebee’s was the first restaurant chain to welcome in Veteran’s and Active Military to be served by us a Free meal on

Veterans Day! ….and although many Other chains also now offer a Free Item no one does it like Applebee’s!

We start by decorating our restaurants in Red White and Blue! Then we collect “Thank You notes” from our Guests and Neighbors

within each of the communities we serve by directing everyone to the “THANK YOU MOVEMENT” website

Here anyone can write a personalized message to our troops currently serving or to those

Who have served…Our Veterans!

This year a total of 6,705,046 thank you notes were collected on the site!

Doherty Applebee’s Neighborhoods had a total of over 77,000!

We also create Thank You Boards in our restaurants and Send them to our Active Troops overseas!

Gentlemen, For the past 3 years' I have been attending the Wonderful Veterans Day meal at your East Islip Location.  I want to personally thank you for the gracious offer to provide meals for our brothers and sisters who have Served and are currently serving in the Military.  One reason for this letter is to mention one of your Employees, Chrissy Coyne, who has gone out of her way to make this day special for a friend of mine. I am a disabled Veteran and in years past I would attend the event with an older WW 2 veteran who is in a wheel chair. Bill is not doing well he is Blind and for the last 2 years and is confined to a bed in a nursing home. Chrissy noticed that Bill was not there last year and last Monday and Bill would not be joining us at Applebee's this year. Chrissy Brought Applebee's to him. She packaged a bowl of soup which I delivered it to my Friend Bill at the nursing Home for the second year.

RegardsKenneth J. Nevor

WE RECEIVED MANY THANK YOU LETTERS OURSELVES!

Frank Fantacone a Vietnam Vet would like to thank the Forked River Applebees staff for providing him with a dinner @ home. frank walked in last year but now has lung cancer and bone which he no longer can leave his home. thank you again for making his day

My husband and I went to this store with our 2 young boys on veterans day. My husband is active duty in the Navy and we heard about their offer for a free entree for active duty and veterans. We are struggling very much right now financially but we thought we would take advantage of this very gracious offer. We went to the restaurant with the intention that my husband, our boys, and I would share the free entree. We ordered and while we waited my husband wrote a note to the server apologizing that we couldn't tip her and if it wasn't for the free entree we couldn't even think about going out to eat. After we finished eating we gave her the letter and she came back a few minutes later and said that she wished we had given it to her sooner. She then said she wanted to give us a free meal! after a few minutes we graciously accepted her offer. Several minutes later she came back and told us she put in 3 extra meals, 1 for each of us I was in tears and we were both flabbergasted! We cannot begin to express how absolutely grateful and blessed we are! The entire staff was so friendly and kind. 1 manager came over and took time to talk to us and ask my husband about his service and what he did, where he's been etc. This was by far one of the most amazing experiences we have had at a restaurant! Thank you Applebee's for supporting our family.p
