THE DRAMATIC PERFORMANCES ACT, 1876(XIX of 1876)

for the better control of public dramatic performances.

Pre!+le9: ;here!# it is expedient to empower the Government to prohibit publicdramatic performances which are scandalous, defamatory, seditious or obscene;

It is hereby enacted as follows:-

19 Short title9: This Act may be called the Dramatic erformances Act, !"#$%

3c4 is, in willful disobedience to such order, present as a spectator durin the whole orany part of any such performance, or

3d4 bein the owner or occupier, or havin the use of any house, room or place, opens,'eeps or uses the same for any such performance, or permits the same to beopened, 'ept or used for any such performance,

shall be punishable on conviction before a aistrate with imprisonment for a term which mayextend to three months, or with fine, or with both%
