These are your representatives that go to Washington D.C. and work on issues for the entire country.

U.S. President Barack Obama (D)

Executive Branch

The President is the Head of State, Head Executive, and Commander in Chief of the American Military.

The President has the power to veto law and can be impeached and removed by Congress.

The President is not directly elected by the people. He is elected through the Electoral College www.whitehouse.gov

The V.P. ‘s main function is to assume the office of the Presidency if the President dies or is unable to perform his duties.

The Secretary of State is the main foreign policy advisor to the President. They negotiate treaties and agreements with other countries. They also recommend appointments for U.S. ambassadors around the world.

The Treasury Secretary is the top Economic advisor to the President.

The Speaker is elected by the entire House of Representatives and is second in line to the Presidency.

The Speaker is the official leader of the House and establishes policy , negotiations, and budgets
