“The Final Solution”

• Nazis use euphemisms to mask the nature of their crimes.

• Euphemism is more agreeable language that substitutes offensive or unpleasant words

• Final Solution= code name for the systematic, deliberate, physical annihilation of the European Jews (estimated 11 million)

• The plan came in many stages– Boycott Jewish, Kristallnacht, ghettos – Creation of concentration camps and death centers
