2. All speech should be in quotation marks

3. Use Proper Punctuation

• Need SOME punctuation inside your quotation marks• comma, like in line 2• question mark, like in line 3• period, like in line 2 * periods belong at the END of a sentence
Show Don’t Tell• TELL: She was scared.• SHOW: Sweat dripped down her brow as her heart raced.
• TELL: They drove there. They talked in the car. They got there and get out of the car.
• SHOW: Jessie tried to focus on the road, but she was distracted by the funny stories Amy told. Amy was always the funny sister. Before they knew it, they were turning into the parking lot of their destination. Unbuckling themselves and opening the doors, they prepared themselves for what came next.
• *Before you finalize your story, go back and find 2-3 moments that you can SHOW me instead of TELLING me. Add descriptions/images, make it so that the reader is seeing through the character’s eyes, not just hearing a summary of what happened.
