Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the

salvation of the LORD

� What is happening in Egypt today causes concern and worries to many of us. We try to follow up the news by all means, but we stand hands tied and we do not know what will happen. Fear might be reigning over many of us, what to do?

� The people of Israel were exposed to the same tribulation while coming out of Egypt “And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted

their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were

very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.…

Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the

salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For

the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more

forever” He then finished his words by saying: “14 The LORD will fight

for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14: 10-14). � We all know how the Lord saved his people afterwards. My beloved, God

works all the time “My Father has been working until now, and I have

been working” (John 5 : 17). He is working now and soon we will see the result of His work, let us have full confidence that God is working. Let us not look to the distress but to God in Whose hands is everything, Who is capable of everything and Who promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age.

� Our teacher Saint Paul says in his epistle to the Romans 8:28 “And we

know that all things work together for good to those who love God”. He works for the good and turns what looks to be evil into good thing as we say in the prayer of thanksgiving He is the Beneficent. Even if the doors look closed, do not be afraid but let us remember the words of Saint John in Revelation (4: 1) “I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven”. Do not be afraid, the Lord opens all the closed doors and no one closes.

� May we live in hope as sons of God and as a Church who hopes for the

kingdom of God. � We ask the Lord that peace and tranquility reign over Egypt. We ask this

from the Lord and He will give it to us as free gift and fill our hearts of His

CHURCH NEWS

1. We received the names of ten candidates for the Church Board of deacons and the names are as follows in alphabetical order: Gihan Wanis, Hani Guirguis, Ihab Mankarious, Mervat Salib, Mickel Faltas, Mickel Kamel, Mirette Kamel, Ramez Rafla, Shawky Yousef, Victor Halim .

2. The youth of the Church will be presenting a theatrical play “Life” on Sunday, 20 February from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on George Vanier Theatre at Jarry street near the church (tickets are available in the church hall for 10$).

3. The annual fundraising of Virgin Mary Church will be today. 4. The meeting of Saint John the beloved will be next Tuesday at

11:00 a.m.

Condolences

The church shares the feelings of her beloved for the departure of Dr. Raafat Fahmy Morcos and asks for his soul to be reposed in the bosom

of the saints, He is the husband of Dr. Jacqueline Henri and father of Joseph and
