Editor’s Desk Dear students, staff and faculty members:
It is a pleasure to present to you the second edition of our campus e-newsletter
Dnyan Pushpa. Last quarter has been a vibrant one for our campus , which was
buzzing with lots of events, celebrations , technical conferences, recruitment
drives , community activities, sports tournaments , annual gatherings & activities
for student and staff welfare. It is always a great joy to share news of all these
activities with all of you . It is the noble thinking of our Hon. Director –
Academics Dr. Vilas M Salokhe to start this e-newsletter for better communica-
tion between all within and outside the campus to all our well wishers. We look
forward to realize the vision of our Hon. President Dr. Vijay D Patil & Founder
President Hon. Pad. Dr. D Y Patil to become a world class institute & to see the
youth steer this nation on the path of progress by using power of knowledge as
their strongest tool.

DYPTC organized it’s1st Graduation Ceremony at the campus for all three engineering colleges in the
campus : D Y Patil College of Engineering, D Y Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology, D Y Patil School of
Engineering Academy.
The ceremony was conducted under the chairmanship of Honorable President of DYPEA Dr. Vijay D.
Patil, and Dr. N. J. Pawar, Professor of Department of Geology, SPPU & Former Vice Chancellor Shivaji Uni-
versity Kolhapur was the Chief Guest .Present on the dais were Mrs. Shivani Vijay Patil , Dr. V. M. Salokhe, Di-
rector Academics , Principals of all three collages, and Chief Exam Officer Dr. D. M. Mate . Total 120 Degree
certificates were distributed in 1stGraduation Ceremony”. The program was started by recital of Vidyapeeth Gan
and concluded with recital of National Anthem.

organizing a cultural program, rangoli competition & fun games. Women staff & students of all
branches of DYPIET participated in the program. Dr. S D Shirbhadurkar was present as chief

Cultural week and Annual Exhibition of students work was organised by Students Council & faculty of
D.Y.Patil School of Architecture from 11th Feb To 13th Feb, 2016. Twins day , Vernacular day & annual
gathering was held which included dance ,singing & group performances. Exhibition included work of
1st and 2nd year students sketches by different rendering techniques, models by various model making
materials, sheets and portfolio of various subjects.

Technical Events
Eureka 16—Project & Poster competition
D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and D. Y.
Patil Institute of Engineering & Technology, or-
ganized a National Level "Project and Poster
Competition (EUREKA 2016) " on 21st March,
2016 sponsored by ORACLE University and Net
Protector Antivirus. EUREKA-2016 was reached
to more than 10,000 people through the social
medias like Facebook and the event was partici-
pated by many institutes. Aim of the competition
was to provide a platform to Engineering and
Diploma students to share the research findings
by experimental evaluation. EUREKA-16 also
provided a dais to encourage students to identify
significant project research issues in identified
areas, in the field of Computer Engineering, In-
formation Technology, Electronics and Telecom-
munication, Electrical , Mechanical and Civil
Engineering . Awards for best project & and best
poster were given to participants from each de-

NCACIT-16 on 5th & 6th Feb-
ruary,2016 in association with
Savitribai Phule Pune Univer-
sity & International Journal of
Computer Application, New York , USA. Aim of the confer-
ence was to provide a world class platform to students to
share the research by experimental evaluation. Sessions
were chaired by very eminent academicians from SPPU.
Total 144 papers were presented out of more than 200 pa-
pers received from all over India. NCACIT-16 inaugural
ceremony was conducted in the presence of eminent acade-
micians of SPPU & DYPTC.

ogy Mechanical Engg. Dept. organized a Na-
tional Level Conference on Advances in Me-
chanical Engineering on 19th & 20th February
2016. 200 participants – BE, & ME students &
researchers participated from different states of
India . The guest of honour was Dr. Aseem Tewari. Around 150 papers
were presented in this conference, and the goal of this conference to pro-
mote technical writing & understanding skill among students was achieved.

Cyber Forensic & Cyber Crime Investigations Work shop
Department of Computer Engineering , DYPSOEA organized a State
Level Workshop on “Cyber Forensic and Cyber Crime Investiga-
tions” on 10th & 11th February 2016 in association with Savitribai
Phule Pune University (SPPU). The resource persons were Mrs. Joulyn
Kenny, Forensic Adviser/ Trainer IFO Forensics Standard and Re-
search Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai and Mr. Bipin Kulkarni, Certified Hacking
Forensics Investigator, Pune. The chief guests for this event were Dr.
Vilas M Salokhe, Director Academics DYPTC Ambi, Dr. V N Nitna-

Automation “, to facilitate interaction of
BE students with industry expert Mr.

Pune. 55 BE students took advantage of
this workshop and understood and ex-
plored the fundamentals of automation.
Prof Prashant Avahad was the faculty
coordinator for this event which was conducted from 11th to 13th Feb-
ruary-2016.
Advanced Industrial Automation Work shop
The workshop mainly focused on the following
objectives:
-Discovering the scope of the incidence.
-Identifying the perpetrators.
-Gathering evidence to allow for successful le-
gal action.
-Understanding the legal issues that arise when
collecting digital evidence.
Industrial Applications of C & C++ Work shop
Department of Computer Engineering , DYPSOEA organized a one day
workshop on Industrial Applications of C & C++ by Mr. Milind
Ankaleshwar, Mass Technologies , Pune on 14th March-2016.
Antenna Wave Propagation Work shop
DYPCOE Dept. of E & TC organized a 1-day work shop on “Antenna
Wave Propagation” , to facilitate interaction of BE students with industry
expert Mr. Anirudh Kulkarni, Pune. 62 TE students took advantage of
this workshop and understood and explored the fundamentals Antenna
theory. Prof Sagar Shinde was the faculty coordinator for this event
which was conducted on 27th January-2016.

Blood Donation Camps
While acquiring quality technical education students of our campus also focus on engaging with the community
with a sense of social responsibility. DYPTC has a NSS collegiate chapter which organizes various activities to sup-
port and engage with the needy sections of society.

like cleaning up the village, tree planting, waste water
& garbage management, animal vaccinations, AIDS
awareness , health camp, national integration & per-
sonality development for the villagers. Group discus-
sions and Motivational lectures on different topics
were conducted on each day of the camp. Chief organ-

Personality Development & Career Guidance
At DYPTC , emphasis is given to develop our students as global citizens, and nurture their potential for global ca-
reers and business. Opportunities are provided to students to help them develop their personality by way of various
personality development programs & soft skills training activities. Career guidance is provided to students by
counselling, arranging talks by field and industry experts & training activities.
Personality Development & Resume Writing training
was delivered to E & TC and Computer branch students
of Polytechnic College by DYP COE faculty Prof Aboli
Sapre on 29th February,2016. The interactive session
with the students helped them to learn how to present in
front of an audience & tips on resume writing.

Time & Stress Management Training
Time & Stress Management training was organized by Mechanical
Engg. Students Association of DYPP in Janauary-2016. The resource
person was Mr. Tushar Patil from Samarth Personality Development
Academy. The program was coordinated by Prof Jeevan Wankhade.
Expert lecture on “Project Management” was organized by Au-
tomobile Dept. of DYPSOEA on 19th January 2016 for TE &
BE students. The resource person was Mr. Amol Thakre.
On 3rd & 4th February 2016, a workshop on“ Text Pro-
cessing Using LaTex for Beginners” was organized by the
Computer department, DYPIET. The workshop was con-
ducted by Prof Sachin Thanekar , Amrutwahini College of
Engg. , Sangamner. In interactive sessions he shared with
students his real life experiences & focused on various
aspects of Technical Report Writing using the LaTex tool.
Workshop on Latex tool was organized by Prof. Navnath
Bagal -Computer dept. of DYPCOE on 9th & 11th march
2016 for TE students. The resource person was Prof Nihal
Shikalkar from PVPIT College, Pune. 105 students partic-
ipated in this workshop and learnt the techniques of pre-
paring reports using the Latex tool.

DYPSOEA Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized a guest lecture on
“Opportunities and Career Guidance on Piping Design” on 20th January 2016. Mr. Pramod
Deshmukh was the resource person from Asian Academy of Professional Training ,Pune .
DYPSOEA Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a seminar on “Career
in oil and gas industry” on 28th January 2016. Mr. Vasant D Mestry was the resource per-
son from Suvidya Institute of Technology Pune.
On 9th March, 2016, a guest lecture was orga-
nized by DYPIOM on “Career opportunities with MNC’s and big 4’s for
CMA’s” by MR.Nitesh Warkhede, Manager- Business Development,
Miles Education.
DYPSOEA -E & TC Dept. organized a guest lecture on “Career opportu-
nities for UPSC and MPSC” on 15/03/2016 by Mr. Ravindra Khondare,
Central Government officer.
DYPIET organized a motivational speech on UPSC by Mr. Anurag Singh
on 9th February, 2016. which was attended by 200 participants. The event was coordinated by Prof. P R Sona-
wane.
Student Welfare & Motivation
At DYPTC , due importance is given to welfare & motivation of students, and every effort is made to foster stu-
dents’ self understanding, personal growth, and all round development in emotional , physical ,intellectual ,social
and spiritual aspects of life.
Health Check Up Camps Women’s Welfare Club of DY Patil Technical
campus organized free health checkup camp for
female faculty members, girl students & house-
keeping staff. Team of doctors from D Y Patil
Medical College Pimpri conducted the health
checkup. Female staff members & girl students of
all the institutes took advantage of this camp. Re-
quired medicines were distributed to examinees
for free. Dr. Shabir Khan delivered a lecture on
health problems faced by women and precautions
to be taken by them. She emphasized the im-
portance of regular physical exercise. right eating
habits & methods to cope up with stress. After the
lecture Dr. Shabir Khan answered questions asked
by participants.

Motivational Lectures
DYPIET organized a motivational speech on Sambhaji Maharaj by Mr.
Saurabh Karde on 9th February, 2016. which was attended by 250 partici-
pants. The event was coordinated by Prof. P R Sonawane.

on “Empowerment of Women” on 14/03/2016 by Dr. Borhade and Mrs.
Vaishali Thorat .

Students of all departments of DYPSOEA organized farewell functions to outgoing final year students and
successful students of FE who would be going to their respective branch streams. Inspirational speeches were
delivered by Director Academics Dr. Vilas Salokhe, Principal Dr. VN Nitnawre , Student Coordinator
Mr. Vivek Tilve. Many students shared their memories and thoughts of their experiences at DYPTC.

Our prestigious inter-collegiate cricket tournament “Rajveer Trophy”
was conducted at the beautiful lush green ground of the state-of-the-art
stadium inside the campus. 16 teams from colleges all over Pune partici-
pated in this tournament. Bharti Vidyapeeeth’s Engineering College won
the tournament and the D Y Patil Educational Academy–Ambi
(Talegaon) were the runner’s up. The third place was secured by Trinity
Academy. The prize distribution was conducted under the chairmanship
of D Y Patil Educational Academy President Dr. Vijay D. Patil. The
winner and runner’s up teams were awarded the prestigious Rajveer Tro-
phies along with cash prizes and certificates .Our student of DYPCOE
Mr. Pratik Madale was declared the ‘ Man of the Series’. The Rajveer Trophy

Amedhyam-2016 the annual gathering of all the three engineering colleges in the campus was organized & conduct-
ed by the students with great enthusiasm & interest on 12th March-2016 . The chief organizers were students Mr.
Ajinkya Khandage, Mr. Suraj Bhegade & Mr. Vishal Lokhande, supported by an enthusiastic team of students. The
programme included speeches from guests of honour, solo & group dance, singing ,music & drama performances by
students , fashion shows & other cultural performances.

Industrial Visits & Study Tours
All colleges in the campus focus on students’ interaction with the industry. Many industrial visits & study tours are
arranged for the students to get on site knowledge and awareness of industries in their respective branches .
Industrial visit at GMRT, Radio Centre Alephata Pune was arranged on 15/2/16 by Computer Dept DYPCOE
for TE students . Students got an idea of how signals and systems work in real life.

practical knowledge about the technical portions of the digital studio
Visit to BSNL Mobile Switching Centre, Chinchwad, Pune, was arranged on 7th & 8th March by E & TC Dept
DYPCOE for BE students. Students interacted with the experts in the field & explored the fundamentals of mo-
bile switching.
Visit to Pandit Automotive Pvt. Ltd. Bhosari was arranged on 22/3/16 by Mechanical Dept DYPCOE for SE
students. Students studies different parts of engine and engine supporting systems.
Visit to Hydro-Electric Power Plant Radhanagari was arranged on 22/3/16 by Mechanical Dept DYPCOE for
BE students. Students studied the Hydroelectric and Cogeneration Power Plant.
Visit to participate in ATV Championship, Bhuvaneshwar was arranged from 3-5th March, 2016 for TE & BE
students. Students cleared the technical round regarding vehicle specifications.
Visit to Volkswagen Pune was arranged on 1/3/16 by Automobile Dept. of DYPSOEA for TE students. Area of
interest was Automotive Transmission.
Visit to Central Institute of Road Transport was arranged on 1/3/16 by Automobile Dept. of DYPSOEA for BE
students. Area of interest was vehicle transport and testing.
Visit to Alibaug was arranged on 27th to 29th Jan, 2016 by Civil Engg. Dept. of DYPSOEA. Area of interest
was Earthen and Gravity concepts.
Visit to DYPTC under construction site was arranged on 21/3/16 by Civil Engg. Dept. of DYPSOEA. Area of
interest was Structural design and concrete technology, testing of materials.
Visit to Mapro Industries was organized by Engg. Sciences Dept. of DYPIET on 10/3/16 for FE students.

chanical Dept. of DYPSOEA for TE students. Area of interest was demonstration of water lifting and turbines.

students. Area of interest was IC Engine Demonstration and service station operations.

Study tour for “Settlement Study” to Adiware & Lingayatwadi –Ratnagiri was arranged on 24-28Dec-16 by D
YP SOA for First Year Architecture students. Students studied location, climate , economy , local food, local
services, transportation facilities, local construction techniques, local materials used for construction, & draw-
ings of houses as a part of settlement study .
Visits to Shri Sant Tukaram Sakhar Karkhana was arranged on 8/2/16 by Automobile & Mechanical depts of
DYPP for SE students & by DYPIET Mechanical Dept. on 29/3/16 for BE Students.
Visit to Katraj Dairy was arranged on 9/2/16 by Automobile dept of DYPP.
Visit to PMPML was arranged on 29/2/16 by Automobile dept of DYPP.

3 year students . The aim was to get knowledge about under construction site.
Visit to “Constro Event” was arranged on 16/1/16 by Civil Eng. Dept of DYPP for SE students. Students learnt
about new trends in construction technology.
Visit to Poly-house & Green-house at DYPSOA was arranged on 11/2/16 by Computer & E&TC Depts of
DYPP. Students understood the Climatic and irrigation control in Poly-house, pest and disease management .
Visit to BSNL Chinchwad ,Pune was arranged on 12/2/16 by E & TC Dept of DYPP for SE & TE students.
Student got information about mobile switching and basics of mobile communication.
Visit to Nutan Infrotronics was arranged on 1252/16 by E & TC Dept of DYPP for SE & TE students. In this
visit students learnt about detailed procedures of PCB designing.

At DYPTC we strive to provide ample opportunities to our students to find the job of their choice & we invite many
reputed companies every year to our campus to conduct recruitment drives. As a result of dedicated and sincere ef-
forts and hard work of our TPO officers, we have been able to achieve a significant number of placements for our
students.
Campus drives organized by Prof. Sudarshan Sutar, TPO , DYPCOE: Faculty Coordinators: Prof.
Ravindra Sonawane, Prof Prashant Kathole, Prof Prashant Zaware,, Prof. Sujay Pawar. Mega campus Drive on 6th & 7th Jan , 16 in which companies: QED Baton,
SS Userworks, Edzeal Technologies, Crimson,
& Tuffle Galaxy participated. Over 900 students
from colleges all over Maharashtra took ad-
vantage of this drive. 8 students from the cam-
pus were selected.
Off campus Drive on 22nd Jan , 16 for Three
Media Tech Pvt Ltd . Over 90 students took part &
7 were selected.
Pool Campus Drive on 23rd Jan ,16 for Wis-
dom Sprouts , Pune. 540 students participated and
14 students were selected.
Pool Campus Drive on 25th Jan 16, for Am-
azon India. 750 Students participated & 14 were
selected.
Pool Campus Drive on 8th Feb 16 for
Sedemac India , Pune. Over 34o students partici-
pated.
Pool Campus Drive on 15th March, 16 for
Variate Consultancy Pvt Ltd. Over 1240 students
participated & 27 got selected.
Off Campus Drive on 19th Mar 16 for
Tvamevaham Consultancy Pvt Ltd. Over 240 stu-

Campus drives organized E & TC Dept, DYPSOEA:
HCL Technologies conducted placement drive on 2nd and 3rd February
2016 totally 20 students got placed in this recruitment drive and in that 9
students were selected from our campus.
HR Industries conducted placement drive on 20th February 2016. 6 stu-
dents got placed in this recruitment drive.
Fulamp conducted placement drive on 20th February 2016. 1 student from
E&TC got placed in this recruitment drive.
