High image contrast is the key to perfect images in brightly

lit environments. And it is a fact that this can NOT be

achieved using a standard white front projection screen in

normal environments.

can. Thanks to a research project, initiated by dnp in 2004

and carried forward by the InfoComm organisation, a

recognized ANSI standard for measuring display contrast

and image quality is now being established.

screen test uses a 2500 ANSI lumens DLP projector in a

brightly lit environment (450 LUX ambient light measured

on the screen surface). The bottom of the screen is a

standard front screen. The top shows a dnp optical front

projection screen.
