What is the VCS-150
– 150 port voice conferencing matrix switch– Provides connections of
phones,cryptos,radios,speakers and recorders. – Allows up to 28 users in conference– Provides easy to use windows driven user interface
for Voice conferencing functions

• Master switch unit (MSU) one per system
• Auxiliary switch unit (ASU) up to four additional per system

Starting the VCS-150 Application
Click on the VCS-150 icon

VCS-150 Main Menu
Click the “Login/logout” selection

Logon menu is then displayed

Logon Procedure Cont.
• User ID -- Minimum of 6, max. of 24 characters.
• Password -- Minimum of 6, max. of 24 characters.

Successful logon,Function buttons may be shaded out depending on your security level.

System Security
• Three levels of security provided
• You will be assigned a level by your administrator
• Your level will provide you access to certain functions but not to others

This example shows a user with only Database access

Setting up A Conference

Select the “SwitchOperations” function
DMSI
Conferencing Rules
• No more than 28 ports in one conference
• Only one trunk per conference
• Phones,speakers and recorders may be added or removed at any time.

Available ports are then displayed

Select The ports for the conference by clicking on them once
DMSI
Right click on one port
Select the “Connect Conference” option

The Conference is now set up

Add participants to the conference

Adding a new participant to the conference

Select “Recorder2”
DMSI
Select the “connect Item to Conference” function
DMSI
Recorder2 has now been added to the conference
If correct click on the “OK” button

Removing participants from a conference
DMSI
Place the mouse pointer over the port to be removed. In this case Recorder2. Right click, and select “disconnect item from conference.

Recorder2 has now been removed

Handling outages
Click on the “Reporting“ button
DMSI
A List of active Outages and restored will be displayed.
OUTAGE

After acknowledge if any are still active and have not been
cleared
For additional information double click on the outage

The outage is defined along with a step by step corrective action

Remove the entire conference
DMSI
Place the mouse pointer over any port in the conference,right click and select “Disconnect
Conference”

The Conference has been removed

Logon to the VCS-150

Administrator has access to all areas
Select the ConfigureSystem option

Select the MSU or ASU of interest In this example we will use the MSU
Click on any portion of the MSU shelf

Add,Edit, and Delete port information

The configuration of the MSU is displayed
To Add a port click on one of the empty slots 9 is used here

Add Port 9 to the Database
DMSI
Enter a port ID up to 24 characters
DMSI
Enter Phone number if this port is going to be a phone
DMSI
Select port function in this case a Phone
DMSI
Select the security class if this device is a crypto only
DMSI
Select port type Red would apply here
DMSI
dB gain selection ranges are-6, 0, +6,
DMSI
If this is a phone set the side tone function to yes
DMSI
If this is a full duplex device set the option to duplex
DMSI
Select what type of ports are valid for this port to be
connected to
DMSI
Set up the Discrete outputs for the Connected state
DMSI
Set all 4 to desired selections
DMSI
Set up the Discrete outputs for the Disconnected state
DMSI
Set all 4 as required
DMSI
Add comments as required
DMSI
If correct save the record
Click on the “SavePort ” button

Note the Phone has been added to the shelf

Edit an existing record
DMSI
Click on the record of interest
Edit port 9, double click on it.

Change this port to a Speaker
Change port ID to Speaker1
DMSI
Now change the port function to a Speaker
DMSI
Select Speaker
DMSI
Save the record by clicking on the “SavePort” button

Note port 9 is now a Speaker
DMSI
Delete and existing port
DMSI
Click on the record of interest
Delete port 9, double click on it.

If this is the record to delete click on the “Delete port”
button

You will be asked are you sure
If yes click on the Yes button
DMSI
Note port slot 9 is now blank
DMSI
Log off the Application
Click on the “Login/logout” selection
DMSI
Click the “OK” button to log off
DMSI
Notice the main menu is displayed with only the
login/logout function enabled

Select the “SystemConfiguration” function

Select “Security assignments”

Enter the users ID,password, and allowed functions

New record for John D
Save the info by clicking on the “Save user Information”

The screen will show the new user added
DMSI
Double click on John D to bring up his privileges.

To delete a user select the “ Delete selected user “ button

Answer the Are you sure question
DMSI
If yes that user is now deleted from the database
